Now if we could only locate the wise fella who hoarded and stored 100s of these in an argon filled vault...
Your insurance company would still give you grief over 30 Y/O tires if one peeled a 1/4 off the car...

Here’s my 2 cents -My tires are Cooper P235/75/15 . I think they ride and handle great at all speeds. I did 85 mph for 8 hrs one way and then 8 hrs back 2 days later only stoping for gas and bathroom breaks. I would recommend them if asked.

Excellent photos!
It looks like the sidewall reads "Sigma" and "Shadow". The black portion of the sidewall looks smooth and clean without the unsightly cross hatching like on the Hankooks.

This is a Cooper tire you say?

I will double check when I get home but I’m sure there a Cooper tire , I will let you know for sure in a few hours.

Yes Cooper makes the sigma shadow tires , I had to phone a friend in the tire Business just to make sure

My tire guy just told me they discontinued the tire I have .He said the Toyo extenza wsw p235/75/15 is the tire you should look at. I’m not familiar with this tire but I’m going to research it.

Toyos are a very good tire I've heard. A Japanese company, but made in White, GA.
their P235/75R15 is rated 620AB.
This doesn't really apply to our cars, but if you want to pay about $150 more per tire, you can have custom white walls applied to these Toyos by Diamondback Tires. The tire below is the Toyo Extensa. They chose this one I guess because its tread looks good and it's a quality piece.

As posted in another thread, I just purchased 5 Toyo's @$86.39ea as carryout... I'll mount them myself. No special discounts, just a 10% off sale at Firestone. The sidewalls say they are made in Japan... better than Korea IMO.

FWIW... the big selling points for me... I can order a replacement at any Firestone... might be a good thing on a trip. The Toyo's UTOG rating of 620 A B and reviews give me better confidence they will perform OK in wet weather... I will wind up driving in the rain eventually.

I'm not so much for or against Cooper's... but the combination of which local retailers offered them, some questionable ride quality experiences I've had in the past and the UTOG ratings steered my purchase away from them.

My second choice was going to be the Hankook XL tire... But the UTOG won me over to the Toyo.

I will write my reviews of these once I roadforce them and drive on them.

Nice color. What is that, original factory?
It’s not a factory colour. It was red when I bought it but I had it painted in 1999 with a base red that I liked with a pearl added then had 3 coats of clear sprayed on it. It’s held out well for 20 year old paint. I have long since forgotten the name of the red it was called and I believe they have switched automotive Plains to a waterbase now

I believe the most common standard size tire for C-body would've been 225/75R15 the largest optional size tire would have been 235/75R15. I know 235/70R15 are impossible to find in a white wall. These were used on 1990s B-body GM's Roadmaster, Chevy Caprice etc.

Just bought these for my 1973 Fury I taxi (Black-Walls)
