Ya, yet another question on torsion bars, recently went to the shop were the car is being worked on. we needed to compare the old and new sub frames, to make a plan, torsion bars were measured on the shafts and a .94 diameter was measued, this is the correct place to determine diameter. See photo, calipers is on ctr section, frame rail is on right.

I believe there are different colors, lengths, and stamping's #'s on the end.
The experts should be able to confirm this

What shop is it at....?

At the rear of the bar is a three digit number...
That will be the last three digits of the bar number..
Knowing that will tell you what the size is and if it is a left or right bar....
( yes,, it really does matter) ....

Agree, there are left and right. The stamping numbers are on the rear end of the bar on its end where viewable in the mounting holes? If so at the moment these ends are out of reach, so calipers in the middle would yield the OD. plus or minus correct?

thanks all, will be 69 wagon to wagon stub frame swap, both have .94 just wanted to make sure the OD measurement was made in a normal, proper place.
