I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but here it goes...

I have a 67 Newport that I've been seriously contemplating doing an engine/tranny swap on. I want to put in a GenIII 5.7 hemi with a 727. I've done a lot of research on this and have found that a small block 727 will bolt up to the hemi with a new flexplate but a big block one wont. My question is are there major size differences in the transmissions and (if anyone has any idea) what kind of modification would be required to set a sb 727 in place of my bb 727? Literally ANY insight would be greatly appreciated

The BB 727 and SB 727 are externally identical except for the bolt pattern to the rear of the engine. It will mount up in the car identically.

Just make sure you don't buy a 4WD tranny or out of a motorhome, the extension housings on them are different.
