Laura and I will be heading to Nashville then on to Memphis at the beginning of March, yep, we're gonna be tur-ists! We have most of Nashville planned, gotta see Graceland, of course, and we will check out the museums and the Ryman auditorium, seeing as it's all close together. The Hermitage house, the Parthenon, etc.

As for Memphis, we have a good idea of what we are doing, we are more curious about hotels, and parking downtown. We have been told that it sucks parking in Memphis, are we better off getting a hotel downtown where most of the things to do/see are in that area, or get a hotel 10-15 miles out and take cabs? Or are we good to go on our own with our car?

Any and all comments, concerns or complaints appreciated. And anything you think we should stop and see on the way there from Minnesota, let us know, worst we can do is drive by it! We will be driving, so we can go wherever we want.

Thanks in advance!

Attended a wedding reception held at the Parthenon a few years back. Pretty impessive building.

Make sure you do not have any pro-gun stickers or such when you go to Memphis. My truck along with 20 others got burglarized just for having Texas plates! (This was not the first time that happened, they work as a team looking for guns.)

This is what we are trying to avoid, I don't want to replace windows on a vacation.

My son lives and works in downtown Nashville.. PM me when / if you want and I’ll give you his number.. he can show you around. He bartenders as well, free drinks lol.

My best advice... skip Memphis and do Carlisle...
I was planning on letting her know that for my birthday, Carlisle is where I want to be. But before I could spring that on her,she told me her class reunion is that weekend. :(. :bs_flag:

Studio B tour if your an Elvis fan, tour bus from the Hall of fame and many parking lots within walking distance... even the Johnny Cash museum. Great people great food great bands and music.

Was down there for the eclipse last August 21st (on my fiftieth birthday!) with some friends from Europe.

I stayed just outside Nashville in Mount Juliet which is an easy drive (12mi) from downtown Nashville.
