I recently purchased a 70 Polara with a known manual window regulator issue. The previous owners had it up to about 4" from all the way up and taped the rest to keep critters out. I had figured i could get it to stay up by some means quickly as it was delivered to my storage and it's not a place to be wrenching on cars..
Any how I accidentally leaned on the glass and it dropped all the way down.. I tried rolling it up and pulling it up and I couldn't get it for the longest time it seemed, in the blistering heat. No engagement at the crank . Finally it came loose and I pulled it all the way up and wedged a small stick to maintain pressure to prevent it from falling..
However I don't like worrying about it coming down and a raccoon or cat moving in. It does have a nice fabric seat..
So the question is, Is there a typical scenario that is common with these regulators?
I have never had this issue with my other fuselage cars..
Im hoping to be able to take the parts I need and get door panels off and fix the regulator in a short time span as to not look like im doing what im doing...
