Somebody needs to polish their tin foil hat. Why bother with pigeons when the same things can be accomplished with drones and security cameras. Smart devices can also be used for that purpose.

I was watching a show the other night, possibly "NOVA" on the local National Public Television station. They had a whole bunch of mechanized realistic-looking critters! They were using them to better invade the populations of similar birds/animals to better study their habits and such. Had "camera eyes", possibly some audio receivers, with a life-like mechanized movement. Even "the natives" thought they were real.

It doesn't stop with pigeons.
