two, 6-71 blown Chevies, said to be 550 HP each, 3.90 gears, 1,900 lbs, 8.85 ET, 172 Mph, AA/modified class.

what i can tell, in the era, that was pretty fast in 1961.
Not exactly slow now...

The limiting factor with that type of car was getting the power to the pavement. They went down the track with the slicks smoking all the way. Many of those classes are gone now... I always liked that era because cars like this were built in home garages and there was a lot of innovation.
