Gotta post one of the yellow and blue NYS Trooper cars. Note rear snow tires.

After they auctioned off a bunch of these, they realized that there were civilians driving these around with the yellow/blue paint. So NYS quickly passed a law that these cars needed to be painted before they could be driven.

When one of these came up behind you, there was no mistaking them for anything else but a trooper.

Onondaga County Sheriffs ran Chryslers for a while. I never saw one of their drivers wearing a helmet though..

Later on, they switched to Crown Vics. This one doesn't have the roof lights but does have the plate readers on the back.

I talked to one sheriff when they started to phase out the Crown Vics for Ford SUVs. He said he really missed the Crown Vic.

These are not C-bodies, nor vintage pictures, but a couple of recent pictures of my two factory police cars.

1977 Fury with E68 400. This was a Dekalb County, Georgia marked car. It was originally special order paint from Chrysler, and what remained looked like base white painted to dark blue and white. Dekalb County colors were white with blue stripes, so it was repainted for that, then painted all white for auction. It was white when I got it in 1986, then sprayed black later, and I painted it this year in the pictured solid dark blue, including jambs, trunk, and under hood.

1979 Newport with E58 350. This was a Smyrna Georgia unmarked detective, then Police Chief, car. It was apparently another agency car originally, which I suspect was Cobb County, Georgia, Sheriff Department. This is the original color, but I repainted it in 1997. I got it at police auction in 1990 when it left service.
