Wow, thanks for all the welcomes! This seems to be a pretty active board, which is cool.
I ran across this 66 Fury while at a friends place celebrating his 50th birthday. We ended up at his neighbors place, and I was pretty intoxicated. I noticed this 66 VIP at the back of the dude's barn/quonset shop and asked about it. In a few minutes I had apparently bought it, and the 65 or 66 convertible parts car the came with it.
I did go have a second look the next morning when I was sober. It was pretty solid, and still wearing it's original paint. Floors really good, the only real rot is in the lower rear quarters, and the trunk drops. The vert I think is more rough, missing hood and one fender. The VIP was poly/727 but the poly is gone. It comes with a complete 383/727 though.
I am picking some of it up this weekend, and probably the vert next weekend.
My goal is get it complete, running, and plated/driving before the weather here turns to crap again. Because roadkill...
