Hi there, new to the forum, got a 1968 Dodge Monaco 500 to restore. Mostly original.

Needs some work, planning to prep the body for paint next summer, but we all know, plans...

Great to here from everyone. Great Forum!!!!

Welcome from the Mitten, you nailed your first post with the pic's. Have you been lurking here waiting to post???? Great project.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome! Have been lurking for a few weeks, trying to learn about these cars (once I found out I'd be getting one). I don't know anything about these cars - way before my time. I may be able to dig out my technical chops though, and do the work :)

It's a 383 4bbl (I am told some special original one-year-only 1968 carb is still on it).

Some rust around the car (car was in Maine and Florida), but very little rust through, was garaged. Should be able to cut/weld/patch where necessary, spray it with color... It's an old repaint, so I am wondering what's under it...

I am told motor is properly rebuilt, but carb seems to dump fuel in, and was told the timing jumps around. This car drove from Florida to Maryland this past weekend, so it at least "runs".

I see in your profile you've done some rust repair work on the 65 Sport Fury (one of them?). It looks nice. How did you fix the inner wheel well rust? New metal or fiberglass? Any recommendations for this kind of body work? I believe my car has similar issues.

I wish I could take credit for the repairs in the pic in my garage, but my father in law bought it finished. I posted the pic's for all the guy's that love car ****. I do get to do all the repairs and maintenance though
