What is this by the hood hinge? 70 Fury I

I’m stumped as to what this is thing is. It’s plastic, only fastened at the bottom, and the hole at the top doesn’t line up with anything. There’s not one on the other side and this one is just flopping around. Anyone know?

That is supposed to be horizontal. It fits below the hinge and keeps water from falling on the bulkhead connector.

Thanks guys! I’ll see what I can do with it in a bit. My eyes aren’t the best anymore (or my brain) and all this black stuff on here just blends together into a big blob when I look at it!

Got it oriented correctly. The fastener that goes in the firewall is missing so I’ll have to address that.
It was a little challenging to get it turned around past that grommet with the green wire. Probably why I couldn’t figure it out before! Thanks again!

Might have been easier to pop it off and reorient it, it is just a friction fit on the stud, not threaded.

Fun fact, that green wire is the clutch pedal safety switch found on the '70-'71 cars. Neat to see!

Today I was in the garage and took the first ride of the year with the Mopars.
In this context I also looked for this black cover. I never noticed it before, but it's actually there ;)

It is there to help divert water away from the connectors
