In the old days I would say sure, mix them and get the best of both fluids that way.
But after working at a place that built automatic transmissions, and having some detailed discussions with teh guys in the chemistry/metrology lab over the years, I now say do NOT mix them. Esp 2 oils with such widely-different viscosities.
To paraphrase something one of the guys said 'it's OK to mix things if you know more about these fluids than the chemical engineers that actually design and validate them'.
