Hey guys,

I was able to make a trade this week end for a disk brake setup! The guy said they were off a 72 Monaco but looking at parts/pics I think they are off a 68 ... Hmm can anyone help me figure this out?

Also these are going on my 66 Newport, what other parts do I need ? I know a new master (but which one?) and a proportional valve (but which one?)

Thank you for all the help!!

Those could get very expensive if they need to be rebuilt. What bolt pattern are they? Those are Budd calipers and there are no aftermarket parts available for them. I had to pay $100 for NOS pads and the pair I have on my Imperial cost me over $500 to have rebuilt. That being said, if the rotors are Imperial(5 on 5") and are still useable I would buy them from you.
I'm guessing they're 5 on 4.5" because of the looks of the lower ball joint though. Anyways, I'd keep looking for a different set-up if I were you, I'm not even sure you can buy rotors for these.

I'll check today for the bolt pattern, suck to hear they are that expensive! Like really sucks! I just want to have disk brakes

What did you trade for them?

Well you're not going to make any money but the calipers do have value as cores and if the rotors still have some life left in them you could brake even or get a few bucks ahead. Let me know if the rotors are 5 on 5 and how thick they are. Heck, for that matter how do the pads look???

Pads actually look pretty damn good, kinda shocked lol.

I'll measure them and post a pic.

Can anything be done with the spindel setup ? Can I update them to a cheaper option?

I'm not sure if anybody makes a rotor to fit those spindles. Maybe somebody else will chime in or you could call somebody like Right Stuff, PST or WW. Your biggest problem will be that lower ball joint if those are Chrysler and not Imperial.

Chrysler had a dual piston caliper option on a Slab or Fusie?

I thought only available on Imperial's?

If you ordered disc breaks on a big Chrysler you got Budds. At least in '67/8 anyways.

Calipers have been reproduced as well as rotors which are the same regular C Body and Imperial. The hubs which bolt to the rotors have different bolt patterns. Lower ball joints are rebuildable. Pads are currently out of production but easy to find. It's a nice brake system but definitely not cheap. I would stay away from all the aftermarket brake conversions and run a original 69-73 single piston C Body setup. My thinking is Chrysler always had great engineering and spent lots of $$$ developing brake systems where as most of the aftermarket setups are scary to say the least.

I've not seen a reproduced caliper for the Budd system and who would I get in touch with about rotors?

The style of the dust shield is the dead giveaway as to which car(s) that your brake system is original to.
You have BUDD disc brakes for the 65-68 "C" body line of cars.
So the Hubs on the rotors will be the 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

For rotors, check out a company named Dura Brake.
GOOGLE
You had better be sitting down when you get a $$$$$$$$ quote when you find out what one of those things is gonna be costing you.
Calipers, pretty sure Centric has come out with them.
Check Rock Auto, on their site.

Nothing for Imperial disc brakes on the Rock Auto site and the only thing I see from Centric at all are hoses for the Imp..
I couldn't access any info on the Dura Brake site, I guess a call might be in order.

Then check listings for any of the "C" body line of cars.
Calipers, pads, items like that, all the same thing.
