Windshield wiper arm removal

I'm trying to figure out how to remove the windshield wiper arm on my '71 300. I found the little lever you can pull out part way from under the arm, but what do you do after you pull it out? The arm does not seem loose at all after pivoting the arm.

If you look in the area of the arrow I added you should see a small hole that goes all the way thru to the other side. Lift the end with the wiper blade away from the windshield and you can put a small drill bit or Allen wrench thru it. Then just rock the arm back and forth and it will come off. The small arm has a clip on it.

I don't know if this tool will remove that arm, but this is what I use:

The flippy bit of steel has a small hook at the end, it's just the last bit of the tip bent at a right-angle. You hook this tool over the end of the arm and the tip holds onto the bottom edge of the arm right at the post. When you press down on the handle, you counter-act the spring tension in the arm and you can pull the arm straight off the shaft. My arm also has a small tab on the underside of the arm that fits into a groove in the shaft but that tab will self-release so you don't have to worry about it when you use the tool.

Yep, this worked great on my '68 300. Trying to remove without it was frustrating.

Okay, so the lever just "unlocks" the arm, then you have to get it off the post. Thank you. I wanted to know how it worked before I started randomly trying to pry it off.
