YOM plates in Massachusetts

Hey Guys,

I'm hoping to get my 66 Newport rolling down the road once again. I really like the idea of using year of make (YOM) plates. I want to be able to drive it when ever I want, I don't want to have the antique regulations only to be on special occasions (parades, repair shops etc).


I just want to make sure if I do the YOM plates I won't be stuck

Yes I would be interested too,,but you know as well as I do the state of MA is really f#$ked up and I wouldn't be surprised if it was possible it would cost you.

I did check, the "fee" aka robbing. Is $50 per year

Actually not as bad as I would have thought. Vanity plates I think are more.
Are their restrictions on driving? So you just go to shows and pic up antique plates and register them>>??? Thanks

I've looked at a lot of this stuff on our NY DMV site, so I figured that Mass has to have the same info.

I'd say that the "definitions" section tells the tale, but it would probably be up to the discretion of the cop that happens to be behind you on any given day.
