Need your help on spreadsheet

I personally would like to list it by models.
e. g. Newport, Newport Custom, not...
Newport 2 dr sdn, Newport 4 dr sdn, Newport 2dr hdtp coupe, Newport 2dr Fast Top.
Then we get into body styles which thenyou could break down into infinitesimal increments which will cause even more arguing. Reg. vinyl top, Gator top... Ugh...
I agree, this has to be a work in progress. If you try to incorporate everything in the first pass, it will never be complete. As you said earlier, baby steps. The other problem is that if you try to include too many key categories in a spreadsheet, it quickly becomes unreadable. The body code can always be added later by copying a row and added two or more body codes. ie. 70 sport fury 2 door and 70 sport fury 4 door, but I think it's easier to simply start with sport fury 69, 70, 71.

Start with this. I didn't proof all the pages. If you want sub models (price point, second letter or whatever you want to call it), the 66 VIP (PS VIN) is missing from the page.

65-68
You get an A for awesomeness.

Will be good to add that as an addendum to the sheet. Thanks.

Last call.
FURY (All) 65-74
SPORT SUBURBAN 65-77
GRAN FURY 74-77

Will cover all years Plymouth C-body. Any other monikers?

Does Sport Suburban cover all years of Plymouth wagons, 65-77?
Was there just Suburban or any other monikers?

Will the Dodge boys help me out now please?
Monikers and their years?

Polara 65-73
Monaco 65-74
Royal Monaco 74-77
Wagon 65-77 I'm not literary about Dodge wagons.

To my knowledge, given parameters we are going with to start out:

Polara
Monaco
Royal Monaco

dunno if full-sze Dodge wagons have another name?

we did that thing again.. typing at same time :)

i was gonna add years. I thought "Royal Monaco" was 1977 intro? I thought "Monaco" was '65 to '76.

happy to be educated by smarter "Dodge Boys (Girls)"

maybe...I seem to recall a "royal monaco brougham" in 1975. :)

In fact, I had one badged as shown above... BUT was it a "package/option/price class" car (like a Polara "Custom" or "500" and we should call it "Monaco" period in this case since there was NO B-Body "Monaco" until '77?)

we shall see what the rest of the folks think. again, im happy to get smarter.

Hmmm...
I think we'll at least have to add "Royal Monaco" to 75 and 76.

Personally I'd start with the VIN codes down the side and in each year the model it represents. I doubt that within a year a VIN represents more than one model package. E, L, M, H, P

Next within each cell I'd list the bodies that year, then engines.

Beyond that might start getting into multi sheet document.

My 2 cents.

We all know all these cars are really out there; in the hands of "experts" and "newbies" alike.

My 1975 Royal Monaco, going by the simplifying consensus that formed yesterday at commando1's and others' urging, to me a just a "Monaco".

When the folks at Chrysler did what they did in 1977, the usefulness of this effort .."What is a C body"..has to deal with that i think.

IF the scope of this effort grows, then finer cuts within models and years, may be considered where we deal with I's, Broughams, 500's, Sports, etc. LATER.

That would require the list of VINS covering 13 years and all their corresponding model names and the years that model name w/VIN was used.

Probably the most comprehensive list but maybe uncomprehendable to those who need a reference chart to find out what is what. And you'll still get a Chevy guy calling his Newport Cordoba a B-body :D

I'm going to use a Basic chart, then.
Make, Model (general), Year.
If I get bored in the nursing home, I'll add VINs, levels, color of seatbelts...

i may have unintentionally got our rear wheels goin' sideways with that 1975 thing.

I thought i was supporting the simplification initial goal by calling THAT car a "Monaco"..spevifically a "C" body in THAT yr. Versus that OTHER car named "Monaco" in 1977 that is NOT a C body.

Sorting out our individual expectations of "what" we are doing and "how" should it look, might be the greatest challenge to this effort.

NOT a critcism of anybody or any view. I am perfectly willing to get behind ANY consensus view..as LONG AS whatever we do is dead-on no sh*t accurate -- as would be expected from and befitting of experts.

I like that. Dead-on no-sh*t accurate being #1

Ok.
I still need Dodge wagons for all years, then we tackle Chrysler.
Thanks.

Don't walk away in disgust. Input, input, input...:D

How about for 65 Dodge had the Custom 880. Last year, in 66 they expanded Monaco to absorb the highline sedans. Not at all sure on Canadian models, that was a different mess.

great add! another one-year wonder by Ma Mopar ;)

was there a "regular" 880 in 1965, and then a highline/up-trim "Custom 880" as well that were C bodies?
