My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

Under slightly harder than normal acceleration it'll clunk several times consecutively and loudly from back there and you can also feel it in the seat of your pants. The ring and pinion expert says it wasn't coming from that pig. It must be worn out bushings or something as everything is pretty well shot in the rear suspension.
Some good news though, the rebuild on the gear is done and it'll be delivered tomorrow.

Rear tranny mount ok? I had a car one time that the rear tranny mount was so worn and spongy, the tail shaft would hit against the floor pan under load.

Really love the Imperial, and enjoy seeing the progress. Good luck chasing the noise, I have faith you'll figure it out soon. Nice shop space too, I'm very jealous.

It's new the year I took it to Carlisle. It's been making this sound since I've owned it and I was sure the T bar isolators would have been the culprate but they weren't. I'll keep you guys in the loop.

Thank you sir! The expansion of my furniture biz just cut my car space in half so now I really need a lift.

Its that panhard bar, my guess anyway. That or one of those funny double u jionts , not loose but stiff or does not move easy.

The cv joints move like butter and wtf is a panhard bar???

I sleevd the caliprz on my 69 imp. Dont recall if I uzed ss.

Kinda wish I'd kept that car now.

Here are the the worn out parts that were replaced. Turns out one of the bearings races had been spinning and the whole assembly was worn to the point that the spider gears had multiple wear patterns and that carrier couldn't even be reused. Luckily the rebuilder had replacement parts on hand and it's now good as new.

Didn't you say you had a sure grip for it?
I thought I did for a minute but the 489 3.23 SG that I have is a fine spline pinion so it just wasn't in the cards. I had that one gone through too and it'll end up in the vert shortly. The rear yoke is potentially Imperial only and is the coarse spline.
