Carlisle 2021

OK, what's stock?

If you open up the box, you better understand that when you put, let's say, a different front seat in your station wagon, or a decal on the side, it's not stock anymore.

I could make an argument for the Serv-Pro wagon to actually be a special interest car and not appropriate for a stock class. It's like a cop car.

Hell, I didn't make the classes but thats what we have now...69-73 C body Stock I broke it down like they do for the B/E classes.

You are right about that, I should have parked with wagons or special interests in 19. I just wanted to be there and knew it wasn't even gonna qualify as a runner up.

But last year I had a car parked properly in the correct class. Didn't come to win. But to see not one but TWO 300s parked out of class get 1st in 3rd, it makes me wonder...how different the results could have been. Maybe Dave would have won? Maybe Tims 71 New Yorker? Maybe my vert? Who knows.

The facts haven't changed. Guys are parking out of class and winning.

There aren't enough there to warrant that breakdown.
But there's 27 classes for the metric Challengers? And probably close to the same for Chargers. They could break down the C body's into classes for the three makes.

Park a 300 H next to the Nicest, well optioned fuselage Polara on the planet. Most of the "peers" doing the judging are going to pick the Hurst because of what it is. A gimmick.

Park the Hurst with other 300s and the people will still probably be amazed by it, but maybe there's another H there for it to actually compete with? Maybe a sweet 71 300 U code triple black buckets/console car? ****, Your vert is nicer then some of the Hursts I've seen John! David's too!

300s and Imperials are more "Iconic" to the general Mopar Community then a Monaco, Fury, or a Newport. Thats why they get their own class...

That's an argument for an award. I'm only asking to follow the rules of the game.

Because those are the largest segment of participants. They're all the same to me and I'd be fine with 2008 to current production, pick the best three.

We are just C body folk, we will always be shoved into one class. The Demons have their own class, how many are at Carlisle?

I don't go for a trophy, so it doesn't matter to me in the end. Just trying to follow the Carlisle logic for their class setup.

Only shows a first place listing, so apparently only one.

I guess being CB's doesn't get us multiclass status. Better start dropping some Benjamins.

I could have the car I want, I want Polaras and other Cs. I'm not a CB , thanks though .

300s/Imps have separate classes. They should be Judged within that class accordingly, not with the rest of the C bodys. That's the way Carlisle currently has it. If they moved them closer together we wouldn't be here...

Of course, you can also make an argument that the Sport Fury GT or a Polara 500 doesn't belong with the other cars either. If the Canadian border was open, that blue SFGT 6bbl would be taking class (or at minimum, placing). Those cars are "iconic" too.

Does a Fury I compare with a NYB? Both ends of the spectrum there too.

Last two pages are exactly why I don’t enter my cars for judging. I see my car as being there for the public to see. Could care less what judges or experts think of it.

Interesting email I just got from the 300 International List Server. They don't have a forum, but communicate via this archaic list server, left over from Yahoo days.

This is quoted with a small deletion, but directly from the email I just received. They are referring to letter cars here.

"With so few 300s there and our section invaded by some Plymouths which were definitely not in show car condition, the awards were sort of a given. If you were in the correct row you got an award."

But they haven't been given a class dedicated to their model. 300 - Imps have that option.

I dont come to win. But if I ever decided to actually try to win, this is an actual issue Carlisle should attempt to resolve.

Eliminate the 300/Imperial class all together or expand the C body class by Make. At the bare minimum, move the classes closer together, and we can ***** about it in person.
