Would a 1969 383 mate up to a pushbutton 1964 727 torqueflite that's currently on a 361 without any issues? I heard there were changes to the trans or torque converter for 65+ (if that's even true).

I have a 1973 440 mated to my 64 Push Button T/F and prior to that I had a 1967 383 bolted up to it, so that should work. There were changes to the 65 T/F moving forward, mostly in regards to the spline on the input shaft (went from 19 to 24 I think?), throttle linkage, parking cable, just to name a few.

If you use the converter from the 64 trans it will fit just fine.
Converter spline and input size changed in 1967.
