Getting an Imperial Home

I hope the current owner knows your coming to get the Imperial. ;)

The car I’m purchasing is identical to this one here, it has auto-dimming headlamps, golden-tone search tune AM/FM, rear air, and rear defrost.

This is my favorite story of the new year so far!:thankyou::lol:

My day went from good to bad… the guy selling the car messaged me that he put a battery in the car in the dark and shorted it and now it won’t start.

Fusable link, starter relay could be all it needs. Great car, love it.
Did he give description of the no start?
Is he a car guy, mechanic or even mechanically inclined? Maybe not if he screwed the battery install.
Starter relay is Sr109 Standard. About $20.

He says he will be tracing the wire. His words. I do not know his aptitude with cars.

If you are committed to the purchase, you may want to inform the seller that you would like to take it as is. If he’s got low mechanical and electrical aptitude, he could do more damage than aid…

I told him that I would be ok to take the car as-is. I’ve been working on cars for almost 15 years and this is not my first Mopar, but my first C-body.

If it was nicer weather I'd probably lean towards driving it home. But it's miserable outside, they've been out salting the roads, and your Imperial sounds too nice for that. Looking forward to seeing a thread dedicated to it with lots of info and pics, good luck!

I think I'd gamble on 300 mile tow as well. Just go and pick it up with your F150 and trailer.

It’s actually not that nice. It needs a new vinyl roof, an interior rehab and some rust repair.

I would have loved to drive it back but he fried something putting a battery in it and now it won’t start.

It turns out that the guy has been bullshitting me the whole time! I sent $500 and would pay him $2100 once I got there and loaded up.

I got a message from PayPal saying the deposit has been refunded. I asked the seller what happened and he said he could not find the title.

I tell him that I will be there this coming Sunday with a trailer and now he said he can’t sell me the car.

It’s a 73… Hmm I know it’s not much of a difference but I’m just not crazy about the ECS set up on 73 and up and the EGR. These cars are too nice as-is to monkey around under the hood.

No worries, I know your to far and a line in the sand away. Your dislikes on 73 are some of my likes. Love the Thermoquad and Electronic ignition.
Hope your deal works out, or what I say when a deal fails. "It wasn't meant to be".
May have saved you hundreds of dollars if not thousands.
So many nice clean drivers out there, spend a lil more and get your self a good driver.
