Hi Crew, can anyone tell me what type of power brake booster is in my '68 Polara? Is this Bendix style?

yes Bendix dual diaphram, hard to come by nowadays.

Do not scrap that - do not swap it out, get it rebuilt. Rare as hen's teeth.
Ask Booster Dewey to send you the rebuild kit and have a local shop do it for you down in Oz

Hen's teeth are FAR more plentiful than that booster, and no, there is no other fit of some similar/repro booster.

Rebuilding that unit is mandatory. Perhaps someone in your country (it's a continent! :)) rebuilds them, especially if you provide them the guts from Booster Steve as Ross mentioned (Home | Power Brake Booster Exchange, Inc.). Or bite that bullet and ship it to the Booster folks. Incidentally, they will NOT have a unit to "exchange" with you because of the hen's teeth thing....they'll rebuild yours. They're busy....takes about two months for them to get it back to you. But.....they know what they're doing.

Here's a BEFORE pic. The "borrowed" unit has been rebuilt by Booster since this pic was taken a year ago and is now on a member's car that was being worked on during the loan period. The borrowed unit allowed me to drive the car for the two months, and once my booster came back, I sent the borrowed booster to the Booster folks, and they then sent it back to the owner all shiny (well, semi-gloss) and new.

They don't restore the housing, if it has pitting it will come back that way.

and the one for my convertible (no before, it was a cleaner core, not originally from the car)

Agree. They blast it and get it as best they can, then shoot it.

Also, the check valve they put in it is a generic item and incorrect if you care about such things, and it's very important if you need the second smaller nipple for cruise or whatever. I removed my OEM check before shipping.
