Transmission dip stick/filler tube removal

Hello All,

I want to replace the filler tube o-ring on a 904 in my Cordoba. Is there a secret to removing the transmission filler tube? I have removed the bolt that holds the support to the engine block and the tube will wiggle and twist but not come out. Thank you in advance.

Some older 727s had another tab with a bolt down into the trans case also.....right at the base of the tube, usually covered in grunge. Maybe 904s were similar??

Not in a 1970 904. If you remove the bolt you spoke of, the tube comes out with a hard push upward.
