Hello,

I have to replace my radiator fan clutch but now i can choose between standard and heavy duty,
My imperial is standard do i just need the Standard fan clutch?
when do i have to use the heavy duty?

My weapon of choice is a Hayden 2747 which is a heavy duty thermal clutch.

Since you didn't put the year of your Imperial, I can't check if it fits your car. You'll have to check dimensions to make sure, matching your existing clutch with the most important being the length as you don't want it too close or too far away.

Oke thanks and the year is 1972 of my imperial.

Will have to check the dimensions then. And why did you got the heavy duty? And with stock fan?

I used the stock fan.

I used the HD because I was disappointed in the regular replacement I first bought. In the hot months of summer, with the AC on, the car would run a bit hot, although it never over heated. It was better than the worn out fan clutch, but I knew it would be better. The car runs a little cooler with the HD.

There's a few guys on here running the same clutch with good results.

It does fit a '72 Imperial, according to their website.

I'm using that clutch on our '68 here in Tucson. It turns an 18" 7 blade Mopar fan, and in this town, having plenty fan during the summer is a must....
