Carlisle 2025

Just so I'm clear - what exactly happens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday? If you had to choose Thursday+Friday or Friday+Saturday, which one?

Depends. Like Dave said above, Thursday is probably the best day for the swaps. Friday-Saturday is the best of both worlds, but favors the show field. I’ve always done Saturday only, but nearly die trying to do everything.

Friday and Saturday is the best for everything.

As said, Thursday is great for parts, but Friday and Saturday still have parts, but most of the show cars are there by Friday and all are there Saturday.

I can only ever get to show for Thursday afternoon, I am in the swap meet for two days mostly. I wanted to get there for Wed afternoon and start the swap early for once. I hit the road early Sunday morning
The show and swap is huge. So much to see, do and talk about.

I've never been but plan on going this year. Any tips for camping on site? We plan on bringing my Newport and tent camping assuming that is allowed. Back seat will be out to make space for buying more dumb stuff.

You can not camp on the show field.

It has been years since I have camped at Carlisle. But there was a separate area for camping, only problem I had was that over a few years it became impossible to sleep in a tent with all the RV generators and partying going all night. I gave up. Have a look at the web site for current info on camping or give the organizers a call. I have seen a person pull his sun shade down to the ground and sleep under it behind his car. Not sure how security fells about that, could make you move.
Also some private yards may offer camping.

Generators aren't my favorite but I figure if I can camp at a music festival I ought to be able to deal with some RVs. It sounds like it isn't against the rules at least so I should be fine. Worst case I can always find a nice illegal camping spot.

Just be aware that time of year in Carlisle will bring blistering heat and sever thunderstorms. My camping days are long over, but a a quick search and it looks like there are a dozen or so actual camp grounds in the area. Good luck and have fun at the show.

2 or 3 years ago on saturday around 11 I just pulled up in my small suv at the trailer entrance and paid $25 to the attendant and they parked me in 1 area. I left there and moved under the tree(s). No campers allowed over there. Opened the hatch and reclining chair and covered it all with insect netting. Nobody cared. No security issues. All the other shady spots in the corner were already filled up by big campers. They say u need to register but I think that's only campers and trailers. I did not. Plenty of porta pots. From that camping spot you can easily walk into town for food and drinks. You will need to visit them to clean up after the hot day. After a meal came back and had a few more with a friend and listened to the car exhausts and street noises until time to call it a night. Was pretty nice now that I think of it.

I went to Bonaroo this year and got plenty of both. Suffice it to say I was glad to have ATs on my Newport and avoided the $300 they were charging anyone who got stuck. I'll bring a bit less gear to Carlisle though to leave space to bring stuff home.

They have made some changes to the camping. I'm not sure anyone will be camping in that area this year.

I do not get out of it what I used to. If If management hadn't made reservations and plans I wouldn't go this year but Saturday.
We'll see said the Zen master .
It's a good thing for you that she lets you hang around with her!

Also, is the picture at 10:00 on Sat. again? This year I'll try to remember it. :realcrazy::wtf:

I am not going to make the show or long drive this year. At some point I need to go and start planning in January. With my retirement day July 7, I was trying to pack too much into that week. I may just do an overnight run to Duluth which is 2 days vs 8 days.

God Day All
Just got back from the 'Band Of Brothers' trip. 1600 miles in about 2 weeks.
Anyway, opened my Carlisle stuff and I see that there have been several changes.
Gate 5 (Calvary Road ?) is now closed. With traffic being re-routed to Gate 3. That will be a mess.
The 'Barge' has been assigned to Row B 504. Anyone else in that row?
Safe travels to all.
