Carlisle 2025

Jeff, @Ripinator´s son, just confirmed that he’ll join us this year at Carlisle as he has been doing for years. This will be his first show without Rip, who passed in January.

Jeff will bring Rip’s Navajo for sale. New top, 400 engine. New headliner. New power steering pump with lines. New tires and battery.

I’ve ridden in the car and driven it with Rip, and it’s a really nice and solid driver. A/C works well, $7k is the ask.

Thats great news that Rip will be there in spirit then . So since the Najavo is still for sale, does this mean that Jeff is getting rid of the convertible too?

Rip's 1966 Canadian Monaco convertible with 4 speed is a very rare beast, and should be preserved. He bought a bunch of parts from me for it...

Edit - it was Locumob that had the 66 Canadian Monaco convertible 4 speed, not Rip. My bad.

I fly out in the morning. Going to spend two days in DC doing the tourist thing. We have a swap meet spot but I don't know where.

Does your car have to arrive on the show field by a certain time in the morning? The way I read the rules, it's like 9 am? And you can't leave before 3 pm?

I bought a 9 x 9 canopy today.

How much empty space is there behind your car?
There should be enough room for your canopy behind your car, but I've found that with the long C-bodies, it's really good if your canopy is wide enough to straddle the rear quarters as sometimes it just works out depending on what is behind your car. We were parked next to the building last year and there just wasn't enough length for the car and the canopy, so a foot or so of the rear was under the canopy.

Everyone usually leaves the canopy frame in place over night and takes the fabric off. Anchor it down well, but try not to use any ropes as people looking at your car will trip on them.

You can come and go at your leisure. No one cares. The only issue is driving through the spectators, but that's just a matter of a little patience.

I’ve never been to Carlisle. Except while working. (Trucking). Maybe next year. Thank God for YouTube. Definitely have to make it at least once. Be safe driving through the mountains. So beautiful, but probably the most dangerous roads I’ve driven while Trucking. Every trip turns into what I’ve dubbed “Pennsylvania Adventure”. Never fails. Been in a lot of jams in my Semi. Have fun you guys. You sound like a good bunch of Enthusiast. Oh well, at least I’ll make the Woodward Dream Cruise. As a spectator only,(for now). Lots of plans, no time. Lol.

I can second this on the Navajo - I drove it to Carlisle two years ago, and it's a great driver, handles well, and at that time - the AC indeed blew cold - made for a very pleasant trip up and back.

Not an expert on pricing for these, these, but $7K seems more than reasonable.
