The preferred Hayden fan clutch I use is the HD fan clutch for the 440 w/ A/C equipped cars. Always use w/ a fan shroud to get maximum cooling. The HD clutch is simply more responsive in in higher oper temps.I had an issue with the Hayden 2747 fan clutch. @Gerald Morris is a fan (pun intended) of the 2947, so I am trying that new Hayden design -- P/N 2947 -- while doing also an oil and filters change. Snow White will be getting the same items as Regina, her FQ3 sister, just did: filters (WIX products: oil 51068, air 42044, fuel 33032), an oil change (15W40 PennGrade -- 6 quarts, five for now and one spare for the road), a coolant flush (Zerex 50/50 antifreeze, same idea).

Thank you for the feedback. Both the 2747 and 2947 are HD and rated for both the 383 and 440 engines. I went with the 2947 because the 2747 had issues. @71Polara383 says both his TX9 and Medina, my 1970 Monaco, tend to run hot with the 2747. @ayilar, how is the fan noise with this unit? I switched to the 2947 because of the lower profile (fan blades were way too close to the larger radiator with the standard clutch fan) but now the the engine has a distinct roar of a prop plane while driving around town. Cooling is terrific, stopped to talk to a friend with the car idling for about 20 minutes, got back to the house and checked the temp with the thermal gun and it was right around 180 degrees. I don't have the shroud installed yet, but the sound is concerning. I have not had the car out on the highway yet so I don't know what it is like above 30 mph. Was the 2747 as loud? What were the issues with that one? I’m considering swapping it out just to see if the noise goes away.Its still loud. I put it on and it made very little difference. I dont like haydens.
