That is a pretty unusual car - a full size car with a slant six 225 engine and air conditioning. I wonder if it is factory a/c or add on? A/C was a rare option on any 1961 car, much less on a stripper 6 cylinder. Probably pretty slow. And being a manual transmission might hold it back. Guy selling it has zero feedback and doesn't seem to be responsive to questions since there are 15 unanswered ones still as I am looking at it and only two photos. As of now, price is $3800 BIN and 55 watching. Actually I am surprised someone hasn't hit the BIN tab - but then with no feedback and few photos, seems kind of a leap of faith at this point. 3 days left though. Looks like someone could get a nice car that you don't see everyday.

The car is not a Fury. VIN starts with "211" which designates a Savoy 2 door.

Although A/C was avaliable in 61 the unit on a six is likely an aftermarket or hang on unit. A pic of the dash would clear that up.

Almost certainly I'd say .. too bad no more pics. I love seeing the early cars interiors esp with things like underdash A/C add-on

Obviously this guy is someone you should ONLY deal in person with.
But that car may make a person stupid and forget that rule.
Interesting car.
Interesting ad.
Interesting (?) seller...

I actually got a reply from the guy with this Plymouth. He said it has factory a/c, not add on. Surprising!

The theme from "Car 54, Where are you?" is stuck in my head now.....

I just reviewed the listing and although he said it had factory a/c, the new photos show an aftermarket one. It was a four door. So cheer up Stan, you may have dodged a bullet given his knowledge of what he was selling!

VIN was 211 ........ Savoy "6" 2 door sedan.

Pictures shows a 4 door. Vin should start with "213". Somethings not right.
Now that I can see the dash ..... it is NOT a factory air car. There would be vents on either side of the speaker grille.

Looks like it's in decent condition....whatever it is.

I'm with Will......Savoy non-factory A/C car.

As Will says, "somethings not right".

Zero feedback seller... Not even any feedback as a buyer makes it suspect to me. No questions answered, bad pictures and as Will points out, the VIN is a little "funny".

The car might be fine, the VIN just a mistake and the seller as honest as the day is long.... Maybe....

I wouldn't give him a dime until I had paperwork and a good look at the car in person.

Re: the "factory" A/C.
Sellers often will fight with you that a dealer installed A/C can be called "Factory".
Well, we know better but we're still stupid and we don't know what we're talking about, right?
