I do not think the price is out of line, as I sold a 1970 Newport Custom two door with many of the same options and the car was also in immaculate condition. I got $9000 for mine on ebay last year with many bidders from all over the world.

Big block coupe for $8k? Maybe....not the most desirable color.

No Vinyl top fuselage car beats any Color Vinyl top fuselage in my book. But I like the green in the first place anyway.

Commando1's Cheap Trick #81:
Shoot the car in it's original correct color but with a lot of metallic mixed in.
You'll love it and 9 people out of 10 won't catch it even with the hood up and the doors open.

Maybe he should put it on eBay then, but up in the Bay Area interest will be very low and he will need to go lower.

Funny you should mention the Bay area, as that is where mine ended up. A bidder in Finland lost out in the last few seconds.

Maybe but right now there are a couple on Craigslist that I have seen off and on over the last year. Some high to 13K and some low at 2K yet none of them are moving. Not saying there aren't a few that might like the car but the Bay Area was one of the early hot places for foreign cars starting in the 70's and I saw precious few big Chryslers then.

It is reasonable they made a whole bunch most were junked. I love Newports. I had 3 all 3 were very reliable. The 73 I had I buried it was my dads car he gave it to me when I turned 17, I beat it into the ground it has 140,000 mi and the car was very fast. I don't know if it had a HD trans and 323 or 355 rear end but it was faster then the 72 I had w 70,000 miles and the 69 that was 383 4brrl and ran great. i sold it to a man from the Neatherlands and e mailed me said he love the car. That 73 was a freak car I remember doing 75 mph down a large highway that was usally has few cars and I had a 73/74 Monte Carlo on my tail and I gunned it 300 + pounder and I looked down at speedo looked at him and looked back down and we had speedo pinned 120 and looked in the rear view and the car was way behind so I slowed it down he bolted by me doing at least 100 or better
