The damn front park lights, the side trim. I wish I was closer to that car.

I need a member who also still checks in on MopaFins, to page Paul "Supercarzy" Amato about this car.

I have found that this car is a poor choice to turn into a sleeper.
There is no conversion kit from anyone to drop a BB into that C-body /6 stub frame.
Following that, there is nothing in that hole left by the 3 speed that will help you with the 4 speed that you thought would drop right in. Nope.
All you get out of that car is a set of pedals. Everything else is fabbed.
Even the Accurate Exhaust spec's for that car comes 2" too long because the spec's are for the 2" longer Polara....
Plus the upgrading.
Radiator, brakes, t-bars.

Paul still drops by the drydock to post his interweb findings then he disappears....

Thats one site he has never left
His posts there would give me a headache trying to read them. He would always post a big long list of cars he found for sale with no formatting whatsoever. Very hard to follow. Then after all the years of asking to find him his holy grail 69 Fury /6 3-speed, when someone did he flaked out and came up with some reason why he couldn't buy it.

Paul actually used to buy them. He's had some freakin oddballs.
He fell on hard tines financially and that put the brakes on it
Still an unbelievable devotee, though. It's af is he's got a Registry in his head. Lol.

If I had the money (how many times have I said that.) I'd restore it as is, blue over blue slant 6 three on the tree. I'm glad it's not in better shape I'd be tempted.

None of that is that seems like a big a deal or challenge for the person who wants a 4 speed C body. I would think the hardest piece would be the Z bar (probably just shorten it) and clutch fork (shorten) since it has the pedals and those items already. The rest is just opening the wallet and sourcing some easily available items .. the same thing anyone with any other body style would have to do for a nice build and conversion.

What donor car gave up the unique pieces to put the 4 speed in the formal and what did you have to fab? I'm guessing the real key is the C body specific pieces i.e. pedals, z bar, clutch fork that are the real conversion challenges. And console manual top plate if you want a console. Since there were no manual trans Formals i'm sure that was indeed a challenge.

What other manual trans pieces are a challenge to obtain or fab for a C body? Honest question. dontknow.gif

This car and that period in time was a turning point when it went from being unusual but not mind blowing to see a manual trans in a big car to not being available period

Find a good clean automatic car and swap the parts from this car into it.

It wasn't... :D
I'm just saying it's not a Plug n Play operation.
You have to really know your all your Mopar drive train parts to make it easier to mix, match, and fab.

That's it we all have our own reasons for liking them. They are only this unique once. Got my drivers licence in my Dad's 67 2dr ht Polara with /6 auto. A beautiful bench seat cruiser ideal for the drive in but couldn't get out of its own way. There's a car that would tempt me.
