Im new to Mopars and old cars for that manner, Just inherited this 66 Monaco from my father(original owner) and just fixing a few minor things.

Please see attached pics. 1966 Dodge Monaco Convertible(canadian)

You will see in one of the pics, the hole in the glass for window in PIC 2.

I need to find the piece that goes in this hole that holds the front of the window in place. In order to broaden my search options......
Im sure there are other Mopar's that share this same exact part but not sure what. Let me try to start a list and someone add to it.

66 Fury?
65 Monaco/polara?
67 Monaco/polara?

Is there any difference between the monaco hardtop and convertible in regards to this part?

If you happen to have this part or know where to get it, please let me know.

thanks

Hi there! Welcome to the FCBO forums.

Happy to see another Polara convertible on the site!

The part you are looking for is sold in pairs and about $100 a set. there is some felts or whiskers in the channel that help keep the window from rattling
You can't buy them separately so I am told.
I did though make mine own up up using either 1/4 or 3/8" nylon tubing.

I cut it to length (or width) depending on how you look at it and used a firm bladed scraper to insert the tube into the channel.
It works like a charm and it has for now saved me $100 bucks! :)

BTW, National Moparts sells the kits in Beaverton, Ontario

They were use in just about all Mopars in the 60's and 70's.

The hard part will be installing them as the window needs to come out.
The thing that makes it dificult is that the vent window and frame need to come out with it as the door glass goes in from the bottom.
The factory service manual outlines a method to do this but on my 67 Barracuda I couldn't make that work.
I did find a far easier way that was so stupid simple I'm suprised the factory didn't do it that way.

Thanks for the welcome, It's actually a Monaco Convertible.

I don't see any whiskers on the front of my windows, perhaps all worn away. I will have to get some more, thanks for the source.

No it doesn't look like the kit you are looking for.
It is identical to the eBay kit only paired up already.

update: for anyone doing a search and anyone who has posted on this topic....... I installed the new window guide for the front channel of the passenger side front window.

in order to install this window guide and clips, the entire vent wing window assembly and glass has to me removed from the door, because the new guides have to slide into the front window channel from the bottom. I don't see any other way around it.

removing the vent window assembly involves removing 4 bolts and the window rivet located at the bottom of the main window near the lift bracket. the regulator and rear window channel does not need to be removed or adjusted for removal.

then the vent wing assembly simply just lifts out of the door, you will need a second pair of hands to do this.

cheers
