How Many C Bodies Do You Own?

i couldn't understand the obsession when first heard of some of you owning multiple c's... i own one and finding the finances to do what needs done is tough as is... although, after being exposed to these cars for a few months now, I'm starting to understand a little better.. mine is a 70 polara, and as much as i like it, i think i would trade it for a 67 or 68. i would like both, but there's no way i couldn't afford two, or more for that matter...

It is a sickness......... despite what I say, If I had seen that 70 Monaco last week while it was available I'd have that too

hmm...i knew former Chrysler engineers from this era who were around when I joined another Detroit car company: the 1967 and later Imperials were "C"s.

This Forum even says that below (excerpt in italics) on our "front page". anyway, please there is no need for anyone to reply to me in THIS thread .. its going good "as is" and i've already taken too much post space on this one.

I will do my research on my own time on this Imperial "C/D" thing :icon_cheese:

"Welcome to For C Bodies Only - the home for C-Body Platform Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth Automobile Owners.
We also welcome other Pre-1979, Full Size Classic Mopar Automobile owners.

The cars our members own include, but are not limited to:

. 1965-1977 Chrysler Imperial (1957–1966 Imperial is a D body, but also welcome here)"

According to my wife, "one too many". I have only owned one C body, but in order to get my 1970 Custom Suburban wagon last October I had to violate my 4 collector car limit that I have with my wife (where I have to get rid of one car BEFORE I can purchase another). I have owned 12 Fox chassis Mustangs since 1980 and I currently have 4 (of which one has been designated as gone by this spring with a tentative sale to a Mustang museum in the works), but gladly made room for the wagon in my life, as I learned how to drive (and had many other memories made) in an almost identical wagon that my Dad bought new for the family in 1970 (and had for 17 years). My wife thinks all cars are just appliances ("just hunks of metal") and my wagon being white did not help the cause. I told her after I bought it (it was out of state and several prospective buyers were going to see it in person that weekend, so I had to pull the trigger before I sold one of my Mustangs). Rules were made to be broken, or in my case severely bent (maybe she will forget about it this spring). I have to admit though that she has been quite tolerant of my car obsession over the 17+ years that we have been married. So I could have 4 C bodies, but only if I sell 3 more of my other cars FIRST.

" But I am willing to learn. Would I have to go to a special school or something ?"

Wait .. that's right FCBO is the special school.

I have personally owned 3, 2 67's and a 68, and drove many of the several slabs and fusies my Dad owned. I will have another one day but just deciding on what becomes increasingly harder everyday since I saw Matt's Silver beauty over at FBBO, the rest of the cars mentioned in this thread, and Dave's fine fleet here at FCBO ;)

I like your "Zero" Bryan, nicely done.
heres a good read on Alpar about body designation. I would even call it definitive.

I figure it wouldn't hurt to pose this question. I currently have none and hoping to obtain one at some point.
I currently own three. I have 2 1973 Chrysler Newports 2drs and 1 1973 Dodge Polara 2dr. Love em all!

I spot a M715. A favorite of mine. Any more pics of it?

Good eye! I found this 1967 M715 for sale on the side if the road near my cabin in WI 6 years ago with 21k original miles (1967-85 in the Army, 1985-05 with a small town WI fire department, & 4 years with the owner before me). This is the only vehicle that I own that my wife actually likes and she does not make me count it towards my 4 collector car limit (but I had to agree with her to not paint it back to Army green when I got it). Jeep made around 30k of these for the government from 1967-69. They came with canvas tops, so most of them have cab rust issues (tops would wear out), unless they had "Arctic" tops (custom fiberglass or metal) installed early in their lives (like mine). I have seen many low mileage ones totally rusted out. Mine had a pampered life with the fire department for 20 years in a heated garage.

That door sticker instantly reminded me of the Tonka Stickers of the modelcars from this manufacturer.

I just have one c-body, my 70 300. I also have a 53 Windsor.... Not a C-body... but Chrysler called it a C-60 model.
