Is the brake booster from the 67 newyorker a direct fit for the 67 fury 3? The newyorker has 3" drums all the way around and the fury has 21/2's, not sure if that will make a difference. Is there any modification needed to a fit on the fury or..... The disk brake swap is on the list of things to do. That list is long one tho.

No the fury did not. Its still manual. Ive rebuilt a few brake systems before, never converted tho. Come to think about it , I think the fury is the oldest car ive ever owned. Just trying to get the facts and eliminate any suprises.

The booster will fit, the linkage is different. Chryslers always had bigger brakes than a Plymouth. Chrysler Disc brakes for example require 15" wheels. Plymouth Disc's were smaller, and were able to use 14" wheels. Like a B body.

You will need the brake pedal from the New Yorker. Manual and power brakes use a different pedal ratio. The booster should fit OK.

Well crud!! The newyorker had the e body pedals lol. Theres a junk yard not far me from that has 2 67 newports. They want $35 for the brake pedal assembly out of one of them. Time to do some scavenging!!

If you do go power and use the correct pedal assembly, I would buy your manual one off of you.

I haven't heard that one before... All c bodys that had factory disc brakes had 15" wheels standard.

True. All the way thru the 70's. The C body Plymouth had 14" road wheels as an option,The Chrysler had the big brakes like the truck, and later on the Cordoba. You will never be able to mount a 14" wheel on a 67' up disc brake Chrysler.

Thats ok, Im lifting it and going with 76" wheels!:icon_mrgreen:
Ill let you know when I pull the pedals commando.

Has any one used the adapter plates that switch to the newer ram spindles? I cant remember what they were. I found them once, musta been beginners luck!

Um... All c bodys 65-68 no matter Chrysler dodge, or plymouth had Budd brakes. There were no special Chrysler branded c body only disc brakes unless you're referring to the D body imperial. Nothing on the imperial suspension wise works on the c body platform. 69-72 all c bodys that had disc brakes were all identical Chrysler, plymouth, and dodge all were the same. All 73 c bodys Chrysler, plymouth, and dodge disc brake cars were the same. This idea that the Chrysler branded c body got brakes that no other did is wrong... All C bodys that had factory disc brakes received 15" wheels.

The Chrysler brakes are of higher quality, and look like my Cordoba brakes. As well as my 96' Ram 150.

Since I was here reading your thread, just wanted to let you know that I have
some +++ N.O.S. +++ Asbestos +++ 11" x 3" Brake Shoes ....
keep on breakin' nice 'n' smooth..............

I have three 67'-68' C bodies with Disc brakes, and they all use 15" because a 14 inch wheel won't fit on them. I had a 74' Satellite Disc brake Satellite with 14" magnums, and a 75' Cordoba, which all came with 15" wheels. But I had a 76 Disc brake B body, with the 14" wheel, and smaller disc brakes. The 14" wheel won't fit on the Cordoba either. Also, the Disc brakes on my 69' Coronet are smaller than the Chrysler. That is why you never saw Magnum 500's on C body Disc brake cars.

I want to clarify the above, as I misread the post. I was saying that the C body Chryslers I own require 15" rims. I also found on the Mid 70's Plymouth Furys, the cars had the B body Brakes, which allow a 14" wheel. I have never owned a 72-78 C body, so I am not familiar with them. I do know that my 76' Fury had small disc brakes, VS the Cordoba and later magnum Disc brakes. That was my main point. Sorry for any confusion. I am not a complete expert on mid 70's Brakes. I just know what I owned at the time.
