Dodge: Charger Midnite SE

Rare 1977 Dodge Midnite Charger SE 73k miles. A little history, I am the 3rd owner, I bought the car in 2009 from the 2nd owner who really was an 80 year old lady and she bought the car from her local dealer in 1979. I own a transmission repair shop and have done some work to the car. We have installed dual exhaust, replaced the carb, removed the cyl heads for a valve job, replaced the cam and lifters, fuel pump, radiator, serviced the trans, new batt. in 2009, new tires, packed wheel bearings, and has good brakes. All the engine repairs done are at a stock level and not HP. This car has not been beat on. It has had covered indoor storage for most of its life and and for sure since 2009. Interior is great, car drives great, body is rust free, there are a couple small door dings, Sun roof works, the A/C needs charging. If you have seen other Chargers of this era and see what people want for them. then this car is a steal. You will have nothing to do to this car but gas it up and cruise. I am selling the car because I have too many toys and am at a point of wanting to down size. This car is road/drive/ or show ready. I have only seen 1 other Midnite Charger at any car shows that I have been to. There were only 2300 Midnite Chargers ever made. This is a rare car, DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY FROM YOU. Good luck bidding.

What exactly is a "Midnite Charger"? Looks like a fairly basic 77 Charger with a few options on it to me no more special than the other thousands of Chargers they built that year. Sunroof is the only thing that stands out to me.

Well imagine that. I saw the rear window thing and just figured it was some kind of landau vinyl roof option.

Thanx Stan. The day isn't a waste now. :thankyou:

Um over on the other thread trying not to buy a 57 Windsor...

I have never seen a "Midnite Edition Charger" but now I have to have it thanks!

New plan: win lottery move to 20 acre estate build 50000sqft shop buy Bittersweet for $10000USD but have C1 store it until the new winter home is built in FLA employ Cantflip as personal Mechanic to maintain large fleet of every car Ive ever wanted in exchange for place of honour storage in new shop for twins and sizable flat rate commision then ask 300Rag to captain the yacht named Money for Nuthin up and down the coast taking pictures of bikinis while Cancritter oversees the resurrection of Scorch with Paul in exchange for paying Paul's bill on the GT.

Sound like a plan? Off to check my tickets wish me luck!!

Sorry, that roof line looks terrible.

Is the actual roof formed that way? Or is it an extension type piece under the vynal?

Ok so everthing is bigger in Texas so you and your Dad can run the DFW version of Chasing Classic Cars but just Mopars and only 55-78's. We will need a warehouse so you will need to take care of that as well....

Just sent my letter of resignation... when do I start?

Were rather good looking cars..
Fiber piece padded for the vinyl roof and
a different grille ( Cord style )..
This one is odd in has tilt, cruise, sunroof,, but NO power windows ...

Are you sure you want cantsleep as your Ace mechanic? He was pretty quiet when me and Kevin were bantering back and forth about power windows

Cantflip is welcome in my store anytime he apparently never sleeps so he would get lots done....as long as he has no one to talk to...jk

I was a huge prick in my production days...STFU, Get out of my way, This equipment is for people who know how to use it... When you don't know how long until they run out of work, social visits can wait.

Midnite Chargers were available in 77 only. As mentioned they had a unique Landau treatment that created a tunnel treatment for the rear back-light hearkening back to the 68-70 design, and unique front header. Factory colours for the Midnite Charger were Spinnaker white and Jasmine Yellow (That Silver pic, although great looking, has been repainted in a non factory color).

The Playmate of the Year in 77 was given a Midnite Charger by Hef...It had Playboy emblems added before being presented to her...you can see them on the front fender above the "Dodge" emblem on the front fender.
