I was at Carlisle and met a gentleman form North Carolina. I would believe he would have to be in his 70's because he was an original owner of a '66 300. We got talking and it sounds like he has a boat load of '66 300 parts he has collected over the years.

Here is the odd part, he was very cryptic about giving any information to me, including his name. He said he would see me tomorrow and he would give me some details then, I never saw him again.

Here is my question for the NC guys. Do any of you think you might know him from any of the car show you have been to in state? He was a over 6 foot, full head of silver hair, good shape would have guessed to be in this 60's. If not could you keep your eyes peeled for him. I am sure if you come across him he would remember my gold 66 300 convertible. We specifically discussed a purchase of a left rear tale light lens from him.

Thanks

I remember you talking to him, he said that your vanity mirror wasn't "right" for your car. I'm 98% sure that he was wrong about that. It was a dealer accessory, not a factory option. I don't know who he was though.

Out of the 1966 Chrysler Accessories Catalog.

Thanks for the picture of the vanity mirror, I am 100℅ sure that is my mirror. I always kind of wondered if it was a'66 option. It looked right when I installed it, now I know it is period correct. Thanks

No luck for you here in Lexington, NC. Wish I knew of a few mopar guys around me but it seem like I'm the only one around here into the big girls.

I hate to say it... but there are guys that like to talk... They don't have a car... don't have the parts... don't have friends.... But they like to talk. They will tell you about parts or cars or whatever just to get you to pay attention to them.

I once had a guy tell me about he had a bunch of friends that had a lot of muscle cars. I mean really high end muscle cars. Then he told me that they were all in a local club that he belonged to. So... I asked what club it was... No answer, but he kept talking... Again I asked "what club is this?"... He kept talking... This went on for a bit. Finally he realized I wasn't going to stop and said the name of the club... Turned out to be a model car club and he was talking about model cars.

Yeah I had some high end cars, built, customs, and man we did some crazy stuff with those cars, wrecked them, jumped them, raced them, even lit some on fire. I'm surprised I survived it all, wish I had them now.

i got rid of all my collection back in 04 gave them to some kids at work so they can enjoy the hell out of them. and i started a new collection a few years ago
