Looks potentially clean.

If this was what I was wanting and it's as nice in real life as the pictures I'd haggle a little, but probably pay it. Previously I would've thought it to be a ridiculous price, but after buying the NYer and the work I've put into it. I've got nearly that in the NYer.

I have checked out this car in person. It has been on Craigslist for over two months. The car is in fact VERY CLEAN, with no rust at all. Unfortunately it is a bare bones Newport, no AC or power brakes etc. The owner is in his 90's and his nephew is selling it for him. Believe me I have tried haggling and placed repeated cash offers. He will not budge. will not take a penny less then $5,000. He claims he will be taking it to Carlisle this year. What do you guys think about the price?

If its totally rust free, clean nice interior, engine works etc. I would pay that 5k for it.
Can always add AC, power disc brake etc later.

I think he'll be taking the bus back from carlisle.

If you want that type of car and in good rust free shape then 5000 bucks is cheap. You could eventually find one cheaper in not as good a shape and chase rust around for the rest of your life and wallet I would think. Being bare bones is less to break and or fix. As said you can add all those other things later. I think it is a beauty and if you are looking for a nice C body I personally would grab it. Bring 5000 cash and haggle abit. If you pay 5000 you still got a lovely car at a good price. This kind of shape doesn't happen as much anymore. Make the old man that owns it and took very good care of it happy. Compared to prices of other classic cars today,,Peanuts!!!!

A clean, rust free car with low mileage and all original would be worth $5K IMO. Take a look at what is out there & what the asking price is, and that 69 Newport looks like a decent value. Especially if you are looking to get into the old car hobby on a budget and are like us, a fan of the C-bodies.
