We used to call this knowledge "street smarts". Unfortunately the younger generation seems to be clueless.
When I was a kid my mother would say "Get outside and play, be back by dinner time or go to bed hungry".
Today kids are no long free to roam and discover the world, they are wrapped in a parental security blanket to become clueless adults and even worse parents for the next generation.
:drama:

Darwinism is certainly broken...:wtf:

And with 2 schools in the neighborhood, I can tell by when class lets out that the parents are to blame... secondary road full of angry, aggressive stupid parents... who have created offspring who are apparently incapable of taking one the line of 40 foot school buses I'm paying for. :soapbox:

All this and I'm thinking they are the stupid ones:BangHead:... at least I don't have to worry about a registered sex offender moving next door.:realcrazy:

Oh it's already about to start the second generation of this.
Saw 3, 20 something's on the side of the road standing there watching a salt and pepper haired guy change their tire, no one was in nice clothes it was a mid 60s sunny day nice wide shoulder of road and the tow driver was using their jack. You know not one of their dads knows or shame on him if he did not show them before they even became old enough to drive. So if any of these dim wits have a kid it will be 3rd gen can't change a flat tire. Rant over.

BTW no offense to the younger people on here all of which seem quite capable of many things. I know I had some dimwits in my HS class (probably the dad's of 20 something's in story) but the number is multiplying.
Sit on the side of the road for a hour waiting on a AAA truck when you could change it in 10 min

Anything bad i see in kids my age, to find the root source i just go to the parents and say. "Welp, that explains a lot." They just weren't taught anything. Period. Their parents just sat them in front of the Tv, turned on disney channel and bought them off with Electronics. Having kids and rushing to get married was perhaps a little less romantic then they first thought. People just keep having kids younger and younger, patterns keep getting reapeted because they don't learn from the past. History is boring to them. "The modern mind has become indifferent to history, because history has become useless to it". Part of being a good parent is to be a good teacher and to teach from life experience and to show your kid what not to do. A teenager having kids doesn't have much to teach a child about anything except how to use snapchat. I am not looking forward to see what the children of my peers will be like in 15 years.

Another thing most of us learned as kids is that stupidity should be painful, otherwise it keeps being repeated.

This is the first time I have seen someone from the younger generation hit the nail right on the head. Maybe there is hope after all.

As much as I respect our younger membership... much of the breeding population isn't nearly as squared away.

Let's reward irresponsible behavior...

Benefits for Teen Mothers

Federal Program

Teenage mothers are eligible for assistance through the funds made available by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Bureau. It gives states wide flexibility in running their programs, so benefits vary from state to state.

For example, in Massachusetts, the program is called Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC). The government program gives cash and medical assistance to needy families with dependent children and provides assistance to women in the last four months of their pregnancy. Teen mothers must meet school attendance requirements to be eligible for TAFDC.

WIC

One federal program that provides food and health assistance is the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program. WIC aids families by providing money for food from WIC-authorized vendors, as well as education about nutrition. WIC will help participants, including teenage mothers, find health care and other community services. WIC participants must be pregnant women or new mothers with infants or children under age 5; there are income guidelines as well.

State Programs
Many states have specific programs targeting pregnant or parenting teens. For example, in Ohio, a program called Learning, Earning, and Parenting, or LEAP, uses financial incentives for pregnant and parenting teens on federal assistance to stay in school and meet school attendance requirements. If they have dropped out, LEAP requires they either return to school or enter a program to prepare for the high school equivalency test and earn their General Educational Development (GED).

The Teen Parent Services Program, or TPS, run by the Illinois Department of Human Services, helps pregnant teens navigate the system to get their education and possibly career training, connect with community resources and find health care for parent and child. Program workers also help teens with the TANF application process. Any teen in TPS is expected to earn either a high school diploma or get a GED.

In California, the Teen Parent Connections program, which is run by the County of Sonoma Health Services Public Health Division, provides long-term comprehensive case management services to pregnant and parenting teens. The teenagers are connected to medical providers, schools, WIC and other services.

Child Care
Teenage mothers who are working or going to school are often eligible for child care assistance. However, again, this varies from state to state. In Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy (MATP) notes that teenage mothers in that state must receive authorization from their local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCRR) for this aid. Agency officials will help explain the different child care options and help place children in programs.

It's the kids that always suffer and end up in the same revolving welfare door. So what's the answer? I have my ideas but voicing them here in Canada will put me in front of a human rights tribunal at best or charged under the criminal code at worst.

Iz there any hope that our government will require Chastity Belts to be locked on 'um thru' there teen yearz and thru' they're 20s too? And If they figger out a way to get the belt off and get pregnant again all funding will stop for their life time AND the life time of the offspring, and the father's stonez will be removed when he's found.

Life imitating art.

This clip shows the tip of the ice burg. My kids are all well educated and have developed very good careers. Unfortunately their best child bearing years were spent studying and building careers so they were all in their late 30's before starting their families. I believe this 35 to 40 year age gap between parent and child can't be good for their kids development. Further, the kids won't get much benefit of grandparent knowledge and experience because these old folks will be long gone by the time the "kids" become curious about their ancestry. Another point, my father and mother each had 3 siblings, I have two and each of my kids have two kids. This progression illustrates population decline due to shrinking family size and a population growth due to old people living longer. Just recently the government of Canada announced our population has more old folks than young. If the old are retired and living on pensions and government subsidies, guess who gets to foot the tax bills! A society with this balance can't survive for long before something has to be done. Maybe all the "liberated" women should be back in the kitchen, barefoot and raising little tax payers.

No worries my friend since certain segments of our society are taking up the slack...
When it comes to birthrates, Muslims are the new Catholics
