Jeff @cantflip thank you so much for that phone number yesterday!

Last week there was a certain car at the Mopar show Sabrina, and I were very interested in. However the guy had left before we got a chance to talk with him. Thankfully Jeff snagged the gentleman’s number on Sunday, and gave it to me yesterday.

Today Sabrina, and I went and got her new daily driver replacement for her Sebring.

She’s a 1985 Plymouth Caravelle. She’s a real cream puff. Almost feel bad putting her into daily driver mode again.. has 52k miles. Has had one repaint, along with a new timing belt in the last 2 years. As well as a couple other little things. We got some new parts along with it, that it needs.

Also feel bad, as it’s been a garages car it’s whole life.. oh well. Might have to get a cover for it.

The gentleman we bought it from told us the DMV claimed this is the last Plymouth Caravelle registerd on the road in FL. Lol

Enough rambling, onto the pics.

So.... We have FIVE vehicles now. Hmmm.

6 sir. 3 for each of us lol. Sebring is out of here ASAP. The alternator died this last week. I’m throwing a New one in, and posting it up on Craigslist for $1k. If no takers in a week, then calling one of them junk cars places.

#1 - I thought the D300 was hers
#2 - When does the driveway refurbishment begin?

Shoot. That’s the next proprietars problem lol. I’ll give it a good power wash for em. Mayble really made a mess out there...

Any recommended cleaners for atf? Haha

Not this time! Maybe “driveway enhancements” lol

That damn Newport still lounging on the side of the house is first. We gotta move first though...

Nice car, hope you keep a spare rear window in case some nutcase takes issue with the sticker.

It looks like the 1980's again at Zac's, nice find, may I suggest a Turbo for the 2.2

Kinda wanna pull the other 2 out for a photo shoot lol. Best looking driveway in the neighborhood for sure! The other mopar guy with the newer metric stuff moved out this last spring. There’s one bow tie man around the corner, with a Chevelle that never leaves the garage. I’ve seen it out in the driveway once. There also a kid with an old mustang somewhere in here. Not sure where he lives though.

Nice car, hope you keep a spare rear window in case some nutcase takes issue with the sticker.

We should be pretty good round here, I hope.....

Excellent! I'm glad you guys solved the "Sabrina needs a car" problem. I still am a little amazed that was the car of choice for her. It is very clean.

Let's see how much I can remember... K car advice...

1- new timing belt every 60k or if it gets wet from oil or coolant... always replace the timing belt and water pump together.

2- buy a set of "lifetime warranty" engine mounts... just replace them all, you'll need to change them with the timing belts... and if they sag or the cradle isn't aligned, you'll want a set of "lifetime" reman axles too...

There is an alignment/tightening sequence for the subframe bolts.

3- find a premade vacuum harness for inventory... there were aftermarket ones at one time and they were both cheaper and better than trying to recreate one when everything got brittle. Hint idle problems often were due to this harness or the hose going through the bulkhead to the map sensor that was under the glove box on the inside of the bulkhead.

4- when the suspension "clunks" over bumps, it's the bearing plate on top of the struts... not the struts the tire store guy wants to sell...

I know there is more, but you have a bunch of guys in here who made $$ working on these. I am happy to say I'm having a break through moment right now... I just took the first tool out of the big box to give away without having a second... timing belt weight coming your way along with a baby Chilton "Chrysler FWD 82-92" manual that has been on the shelf forever, Merry Thanksgiving.

p.s. There might still be a 600 in the local junkyard, let me know soon if you want me to check it out, get parts for you... they were getting ready for a big crush not long ago.

If I can add one thing Catnip? '80s Mopars require TWO tool boxez, one SEA and one MM 'cuz you wont know from one fastener to the next which wrench to grab. I callz 'um "MOTHERZ TRANSITIONAL YEARZ" lol, Nice score Zack. Jer

Yea, luckily the belt was replaced recently, but time to get a set in inventory. The 2 little things I noticed not working, is the cruise control (more then likely a vacuum leak), and the power mirrors not working. Quite the weird setup. Manual locks, and windows, with power mirrors.

The drivers sill panel was missing. Came with a new one, but needs to be dyed to match.

For sure on the junkyard run! Let me know when you think you might head that way, I’ll go with you. The guy told me he knew of one at B&S salvage. Might be the same place?
