It's Not Going to Shift Itself
One of the vehicles on display at the orld of Wheels was this Mercury pickup. The rear of the truck displayed no lights, but they were there, well hidden. I heard talk of of over 200K into this truck.
They did such a nice job with the lettering... I'm finding the trailer light LEDs a disappointment. Sometimes you just do things because it was something you always wanted to do. Besides, if he ever gets a divorce he built it for half off.To each their own, gee $200,000 is a lot for this truck, hope the return is there should it be for sale one day.

You have to remember, this is in the conservative west, and are probably very similar to Montana.
I'll go easy... but I don't all the way approve of leaving the entire job to someone else. A merc PU would be rare... but last I looked... I was kinda surprised the unibody ones weren't worth more... it has been a while. I think his custom job was probably finished to a high standard the pictures don't show... but that's a lot of cash into a PU. I'm glad she's not the unibody truck, I kinda think they're neat and not often seen.And then there are those who wonder "WHY" take a rare truck (in the USA, at least) and do THAT to it. Saved the truck from rusting away, but other ways to spend $200K on a vehicle! PLUS the garage to keep it in!

I don't want to beat the guy or the truck up too much. I do feel kinda bad for him that he didn't get a little better quality from a design aspect... but I would guess half or maybe more of that budget was consumed by the engine and paintwork... Crate, blower, chrome... and this one photo seems to me to tell the hours that went into the paint... look at the fender reflections...It also says "built for....by Investment Vehicle Restorations" (In MS Word art)
I sure hope the builder used that $200k to buy Apple or Domino's Pizza stock.
*also... I find the tube grille pretty cheesy on such a high end build. That's what people used to do around here if they damaged the stock grille on their beater.
... We can't all be a Winfield, Barris, or even Foose or Kindig... but the work looks to be good, and that isn't cheap or easy to find. FWIW I am kinda digging the "saddle bag" door pocket...
