I have never seen a picture of this 2 seat version. Obviously not a real car as it has stands under the front to hold it up. Interesting...

First time I've seen it too. With the stands under it, I suspect it might be a "conceptual" clay version that could be made into "the real thing" if it was approved. The basic structure would be a solid frame (wood, possibly) with the clay paid on top of it, then worked and such to end up as it appears.

@Fury Pursuit, can you shed any light on the story of this car?

Sure...

I think the photo was taken at the US 30 strip. I’m not 100% on the location.

As for the car it was a “promo” car used by Hurst to taxi Hurst employes or Chrysler employees around with the “Hurst camp” at various races around the country. - The “Hurst” graphic on the door is magnetic, and was applied when Linda or George were doing track duty but the Hurst Convertible wasn’t available. Niki Phillips likely was at the other side of the track, etc.

Hurst did the same thing with Oldsmobile “common” cars.

Hurst had a huge group of people and promotion at major events back then. Full travel trailer (park model), “Hurstaid” repair vehicles, tow vehicles, mini bikes, golf carts etc.

The 70 300/H Hurst convertible even had a tow hitch installed by Hurst to tow a trailer to and from events.!

My 68 Fury, picture taken in August 69 after a camping trip and about one month before I traded the car in and ordered my 70 Fury. I liked the 68 but it's 318 had to work hard to haul that trailer and that was the motivation to get another convertible with a big-*** engine. Funny, I sold the trailer and as it turned out, the 70 never towed much heavier than a 15' ski boat.
