Hello I'm new to the site. I have a 1966 Chrysler 300 with a broken rear window. I found a window to but having problems locating rear window seal. I found a listing on line for a rear seal for a 1966 Newport and was wondering if this seal would fit the 300.

Welcome to the site!

From your avatar picture it appears your car is a 2-door hardtop. Sorry but no, your 300 rear window is very different (smaller) than the 1966 Newport rear window.

If you can't find a correct one, perhaps you could buy the Newport gasket, cut it down to size and glue it back together? I think the gasket is made by Steele Rubber. You could try contacting them and asking for their advice.

thanks for the advice saved be from spending $400. on a seal that won't fit

I believe that the rear window on the 66 300 is larger than on the Newport so cutting down a Newport gasket is not going to work. Check with a company that I think is called Clesters. They sell many of the windshield and rear glass gaskets.

Clester's Auto Rubber Seals

They don't list your gasket in their catalog but that does not mean that they don't have it or can't make it if you send them your old one. I know that they made a rear window gasket for a friend's '67 Fury several years ago but they don't list that gasket in their catalog.

I also found this on eBay for a '65 but I don't know if the '65 300 and other C Body cars used the same rear glass.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure that the 66 300 rear window is smaller than the Newport. It doesn't go all the way to the edges of the C-pillars, and it doesn't go all the way down to the bottom of the rear deck.

The 66 300 used a unique roofline, which was not the same as a 65 300. I think they may have reused that roofline on 67 Furies which did not get the fastback roof. You'd need to check glass interchange part numbers to be sure.

Early morning pre-caffeine brain fart. Was thinking about the 66 300 4_door hardtop that I used to have.
