With so many fires going on in BC and the Pacific NW, air quality is a little compromised around here.

Yep, all over the western states also. We joke here that we ought to sue California and their Moonbeam Governor about all of the regional haze that they cause here. They try to force their values on their neighboring states, so, why not a little payback?
 
Think it was Friday here we could smell the Canadian smoke...I thought the neighbors were burning logs. That strong.
 
I moved out of that state because of it's Political BS, and I still have to breath their crap where I'm currently at!
 
Guys, I've been in this crap for weeks now. Smells like campfire with poor quality wood and trash thrown in the fire. Medford, OR has some of the most unhealthy air you can find right now. All kinds of outdoor events are being cancelled including car shows.
 
The news said some of that smoke I reaching our east coast. I haven't seen anything yet

Yep, and the Progressive Govt. in Eugene don't think too much about it! But mention anything other than wind or solar for their power and they will scream like you were killing them! I had to deal with Kitzhaber and his cronies (and his girl friend) almost on a daily basis for 3 years.

You have my sympathy. I've wondered if putting up with the blizzards in Michigan would be better than this.
 
Not sure how the air quality index works, I assume its a scale from 0 to 10 where 0 is no pollution. Calgary typically is 0 to highs of 1 or 2. Yesterday it was 10 and weather dude figured it should be closer to 15 if such a thing existed.

The previous owner of this house had very bad lungs and he received a dual lung transplant. He had the house sealed and he upgraded the HVAC system with a super high efficiency system with a filtering system that removes virtually all particulates. As a result, while the outside air is very strong smelling, indoors no smoke smell at all.
So I stay indoors until the air clears.

God is punishing the State ofCalifornia. The residents are the collateral damage.
We need to drop population growth to Zero for ten year, realign and start fresh.
Do not take me literally about God. I use God a a metaphor.
