For Sale........

‘70 Plymouth Sport Fury 440 cu £17500

Only recently bought this absolutely immaculate Mopar, but as much as I’ve tried to fall in love with it, it’s just not the car for me.......

It’s an absolute credit to its previous owner, the attention to detail is outstanding, and it wants for nothing mechanically or cosmetic.

££££££’s has been spent on this car with all the invoices/receipts documented including,

New 750 Holley Carb
New Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold
Complete brakes overhaul
New suspension struts, bushes etc
Interior Trim
Petronix Ignition
Refurbished front grill & surround
The list is endless........

The interior is immaculate with exception to a very small nick in the headlining (which you wouldn’t find unless it was pointed out) but there is a new headlining to be included in the sale, as well as a host of other spares.

Bodywork is outstanding having had a full professional restoration and paint a few years back.

Literally everything works on this car and when I say it wants for nothing, I really do mean it ! Every dash clock is in full working order, dash lights, air con, heater, radio, windows, even down to the glove box light !

The 440 cu big block motor pulls like a train, and sounds amazing. Pulls a crowd everywhere this car goes and is well photographed ! Previously a feature car in Classic American magazine.

Ideally I’m looking for a straight sale so I can put the money into my race car, but I am open to a swop or p/x on something interesting, Hot Rod or American only.

The value of this car is only going one way and is a true investment piece of Mopar history.

Genuine enquires only please. No ridiculous offers, and I don’t want to p/x or swop on anything other than a Hot Rod or yank.

Call me on 07854 524 873.

Yeah, I meant the Hurst locks are more elegant than These.

I wonder if this was a 440 car to start with. Appears to have a drum brake master cylinder. Exhaust manifolds are incorrect for a T-Code car, as is the Throttle cable bracket. Worth $22,853 US. Nice looking car, but a buyer will be into it at least $30k to get it back here.

As the 440 was only available in the SFGT I don't think so. A SFGT would be listed for at least 30k unless it's rusty or needs work

Plus the trunklock should say GT on it if it was one, but I'm not an expert on those details

it is just an average 383 Fury.
Painted wrong colour (69 F3 green instead of 70 FF4 green).
Missing lots of trim.
Quarters had work done to them and use of inaquerate panels.

A car I wouldn't want to have.

actually, correct me if I'm wrong, but the T code 440 was also available in other Furies, at least Fury III's (?). My convertible has one.

T Code 440 was available as an option on Sport Furys, including the SFGT (standard), T Code was not available on the S 23 Sport Fury. This sport fury is missing the side trim and has the black rear bumper insert. Would like to see a build tag on this one. As far as I know, the U Code 440 ('70) was only available in the Fury line as a police option and the 6BBL option only appeared in the SFGT, (Probably was available also on max performance police cruisers-very rare). Some one has obviously added the high performance exhaust to this unit as part of the carb and manifold upgrade. Coil and A/C brackets were moved/altered to accommodate the new manifold. I not sure about these wheels, they seem out of place on a sport fury. Master cylinder is single bolt drum brake type which suggests this car was not a factory 440 unit.

I wonder if this car could have originally been an S 23 that someone altered?

Sorry for that misunderstanding.
Because someone was wondering wether that specific model here left the factory with the 440 I wanted to stress that the 440 came only with the GT. On the base sportfury the 440 was not available, biggest engine you could get in there was the 383.

getting confused on the various claims, but here is the fender tag for my '70 Fury III convertible. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.

I agree this this car probably did not leave the factory with a 440. 440 was certainly available on other sport furys, including the formal PH27.

no problem, thanks for the explanation, learn something new every day.

@sauterd so here goes the proof for your Fury III

Seems you're right, we had this argument several times but it seems that I keep forgetting the facts. :realcrazy: I always had in mind that the 383-4 was the highest option in a Sportfury and the 440 was only available with the GT option, but it seems I was wrong
