Very interesting conversion, obviously done in its younger years.

Actually, that is not a conversion. It's a very rare, factory AM/FM stereo radio. What looks like a tiny rectangular opening in the black plastic section is the "STEREO" light.

With the black interior, you can't see them in the pictures, but it will have two small speakers on the top of the dash. I doubt that the sound quality was very good when driving with the top down.

They were made both ways. My ‘68 300 convert had thumbwheel am/fm with thumbwheel fader. My ‘67 hardtop New Yorker had round-knob am/fm signal-seeker with round-knob fader. I’m sure that the thumbwheel versions are “Chrysler” and round knob versions are Delco. If these pictured aren’t signal-seekers, they are probably an optional high-powered (perhaps six amps!) unit.

I've never seen the stereo version with the dash speakers. I also have the Am/Fm seek&search radio with the rear speaker.

Sorry, it’s not mine. It was the one in the Craigslist link in the first post, I’m sure it’s long gone.

Is the console in 68 C Body’s supposed to have a wood overlay? I thought it should be an aluminum look?

I think that wood is correct for the car above.

It’s also walnut burl which wasn’t used in the B-body platform iirc..
