Can't wait to hit the highway again this summer!
When I got my 300 at Mecum Indy last year, I considered--for about 27 seconds--driving the 900+ miles back to Ponte Vedra, Florida. Then I went over to the transport guys.....
No sense of adventure.

I bought my 1978 Dodge Magnum in the summer of 2017 and drove it from Brookfield Wisconsin to Bangor Maine. Good time!
I actually bought it in Black Creek (NW of Green Bay) and drove it to Brookfield. I worked on it there for a while, then drove to Maine. Your GT is MUCH NICER than my XE.Interesting...my 1979 Magnum was purchased in 2017 from Colorado and came home View attachment 270893 to Waupun Wisconsin.
When the smoke stopped,we stopped to fill the trans.
My Magnum story......
26 years ago this past January I left my home of Newfoundland to seek a better future in Ontario.
My friend and I shared expenses while driving his 78 Magnum XE 360 2bbl auto. Black red guts buckets floor shift and T-tops. A cool car even then despite having high mileage, second motor and third transmission.
Typically the drive including the ferry ride takes a couple days.
It was winter and the windshield washers did not work. My job as a passenger was to hop out and throw snow on the windshield when pulled over. Or pour washer fluid down the glass when driving.
About 40 miles east of Quebec we saw smoke behind us. Getting of the highway the trans was slipping and shifting funny.
Front pump seal went.
We both bought a total of 8 bottles of trans fluid.
The fluid leaked on the exhaust crossover pipe and smoked plumed behind us.
When the smoke stopped,we stopped to fill the trans. Once up in 3rd gear and at highway speed the trans worked fine and got us to Ontario. My buddy two weeks later rolled the car hitting a median off ramp after a night of partying.
Can't remember such a long time ago .. .. Yeah i was there lolPeople from Newfoundland party???
