Digging out the wagon after 18+ months.....

Since moving up North almost 3 years ago I have done nothing to my 68 T/C wagon, moved it a couple times but mostly been in the garage while I get life sorted out.

Well my two daughters graduate in a month or so and want me to cart them around and drop them at Prom in the old wagon so I figured I better get it dug out of the garage.

This is how it looked after 18+ months....

Coupe days of cleaning and clearing....

And finally yesterday the uncovering....

Did an oil change and put in a battery, some gas down the carb and a few stumbles and it fired right up!

Still had a bunch of stuff in the cargo area from the move up....it was loaded up pretty good for the drive up North. ;)

Cleaned out the cargo area and took the wagon for a blast around the block.....man I forgot how much fun the old wagon was that 440 sure pulls and I had a big grin on my face when I got back to the house!

So going to go over the car and give it a good cleaning, wax and polish, but for now it got moved from the cramped garage off the house to the new shop.

Rediscovering her once again is like finding a piece of yourself that you felt was missing.

I love original flavoring, but am not so much of a purist that I won't run other stuff on my vehicles.

But I am probably one of the few who really likes the TQ, been running them on pretty much all of my mopar V8's for probably close to 20 years. They require a fair amount of fine tuning and finesse to get them set up properly, but once dialed in they perform like a motor with throttle body injection....IMO. ;) Plus you get great fuel economy while cruising on the primaries...that worn out old 440 in the wagon was getting 13-15 mpg when loaded up with the family and gear on vacation, and that was through the mountains of BC. And I love the sound of those HUGE secondaries kicking open!!

Me too!!

I tried installing the 300 grille years ago, but never got it to sit and look right at the time. Back then I was reluctant to do any trimming to the car to make the grille work, but as mentioned above my ideas and tolerance for modification has softened over the years. Once the shop is finished the 300 grille install will get bumped up for a winter project.

I am also a Thermoquad fan and agree when theu work They realy do work well.
My waygun went from 2 barrell to a shop -vac sucking 800 cfm TQ. The 318 runs so much better and best highway mpg was 24 in 2013.

Well those wee little primaries don't flow 800 cfm...;) Bet you gain a little bit in MPG with a freshened up motor and with that carb it now can breath easier.

Yup sure is....that is a 15' deep raveen that I push most of the long driveway and yard snow into during the winter. That pile was over 12' tall, 40' wide and out into the yard another 10' when the snow stopped falling a month or so ago. Last year we had 10" of snow fall during April, and snow did not start melting until may!

FYI I push the snow with my factory "Sno-Commander" 85 ramcharger....name is Sno-Ball.

I then pile it up with my 4bt cummins powered 89 Case Skidsteer....name is MUD.

Yeah it makes having to go out and clear the snow a bit more fun. I'd love to get a 2 stage snow blower atatchment for the Skid Steer.....that would make clearing our 300 foot, up hill from the house, drive way even easier. ;)
