Since GoldMyn started a tread on "Young Kids". I would like to know what compliments you guys get on your cars. Especially IF you have a station wagon. From anyone and from anywhere. Before I knew him my stepdad said, he used to get thumbs up and people would beep the horn while he driving one of his cars a lot. Now since the electric cars, he still gets that but not as often as he used to. At shows, he sometimes got the "my dad or mom had one exactly like this, but it was a Chevy or Ford." Last year we took the S/23 to a MIM Car Club show in Enfield, CT. Mind you my stepdad is the VP of the club. I was right by our car checking out a couple of the other cars, and I overheard a guy tell another guy. The guy said "this is a rare car right here". Not to my family and I directly but, that made me feel good. I love compliments like that. It makes me feel that some people still appreciate these types of cars. Anyway enough of my BS. I'd like to hear what people say about your cars. Post comments, opinions, etc.

I was at the store and an older guy asked "What the hell is that thing?" I said "1968 Chrysler Town & Country" he said "That is one long SOB" Pretty funny

I cant take a dodge out without getting all sorts of attention. First trip to the gas station with my 69 wagon got 3 different people talking to me and complimenting the car.

I'll take my 69 Fury out [sorry not a wagon] and folks will come and talk and many times I will ask them "When was the last time you saw one of these?" 90% will think and say late 70's early 80's. These full size Mopars in the whole scheme of things are rare. Unlike Cuda's. [Yes I like Cudas}:)

I get plenty of people asking me what my Polara is, it doesn't have any emblems on it. But when I drive a car that has emblems, people still ask me if it's a Ford or GM. :BangHead: The last person got the "Mon" part of it right, but added "te Carlo" to it. She tried.

Wagons are popular because today they are curiosities and you hardly ever see them on the road. Almost every time I take mine out someone will ask about it. I've had the same "My Uncle had one" and size comments, a lot of people can't believe how big the roof rack is on mine.

I'm going to start telling them, go over there and read what it says

Agreed. As Wyatt said, on the mid-winter day when he and I picked up Medina in the eponymous NY town, folks at the diner where we ate just before heading out started talking to us about the car. They loved it. The first time last month when I drove out Medina from his shop in Rockford, I got a bunch of thumbs up and approving comments -- several on the car lot at Walmart where I had gone to buy some rags, numerous thumps at the carwash where I then took the car, and on my way back I was even approached by the erstwhile owner of a turquoise fuselage Polara, who had sold it to Mopar City years earlier. His sedan is still there, as can be seen (first photo) in this thread by @71Polara383:

At the same time, one might argue that Rockford is so close to the Chrysler Corp./FCA plant in Belvedere that things might be different in that area. Consistent with that observation, last year I did not get that many people walking up to me in the areas where I tend to drive my '70 Polara. A few waves every day, sure, but not as many in Rockford. This year is different, though. I used my 'vert about 100 miles and 3 hours as my DD during the Easter weekend. Besides more thumb-ups than usual, I had several folks actually stop me to talk. Even more surprising, twice when I was parked for errands, two women in their 30's asked me for a ride. I'll credit the car, of course (after all, the argument of one was that "the bench upon front looks great to ride in"). Then again, I did not get any such requests while driving with my favorite passenger

When I was vacationing in my 68 T/C wagon over the years...loaded up with wife and two daughters, and back full of luggage, coolers, blankets, pillows, pool noodles etc....I used to get all kinds of comments, mostly how cool it was that I was vacationing in the old wagon, and plenty..."That must use a lot of fuel!"....my response is always... "I don't drive it for fuel economy!".

At my workplace (Student Transportation of America), my T&C has several fans. "I love your car" is one of the first things a new coworker said to me. Another said she'd love to drive it on the freeway - really fast. There is, however, the [insert expletive of your choice] who suggested I get something else (when it wouldn't start in the cold) and could refer me to her friend at a Ford dealer.

One of the oddest questions from an admirer/coworker was, "Is that a Lincoln?"

I've gotten a lot of these reactions, too. In a way, my six-passenger version seems like the equivalent of an otherwise pretty girl with missing front teeth when someone speaks fondly of the third row they expect 2B there.

One guy from Sioux City did like Danny from Counting Cars and gave me his business card; he's restored a Fury or two.

Addendum: While running an errand, a guy complimented my skill in backing "that big boat" into a parking space. I couldn't resist saying, "I'm a school bus driver; to me this is a compact!

I drove the Gran Coupe over to my son's house today. As I was getting out two kids (10-11ish) came running up. One asked how old it was and what kind of car it is. The second kid said "it kinda looks like a Challenger". At least it was another mopar, lol. I do get at least one thumbs up and/or compliment every time I take her out.

I have taken my 69 Chrysler 300 2dr. hardtop to many car shows and cruise nights. The most common response I get is "Hey nice Fury". After telling them it's a Chrysler 300 most say they have never seen one or heard of one! I do like being the only c-body though just about everywhere I go. Mine's a keeper for sure.

When I brought my 67 Crown Coupe home for the first time my old neighbor guy walked over and said "Jesus I wonder how many cases of beer you could get in that trunk?"

Out of all the cars I've owned none have gotten the attention that my 48 Desoto gets. First question is always "what is it" Then it's " are you going to paint it?" My answer is " heck no, it took mother nature 70 years to create that look". It's real patina. Quite often it's the oldest car at the show so that helps grab people's attention.

Wagons are hot and have been for a while.
I get tons of compliments on mine.
The BoaB speaks for itself. Over the years all the people following the build and to finally see her in the flash there is not enough room here to tell all. I thank all of you here too.

In 2016 when Rene and I drove his 66 Canuckian 300 4 door seedan we had fun with fellow Americans since they never saw a 300 in a pillared or post 4 door.
They thought we had a Newport with a 300 front clip jammed on it and the original paint had them scratching their heads.

"What´s an Imperial?"
I show a few pics.
"Wow, that´s awesome!"

"Wait, you say that you bought a luxury barge. Are you kidding me?"
No, I`m serious.
"You´re a cool kid!"

Yet there´s a lot more to come as I get Impster road ready.

I’ve received a few compliments on the c bodies I’ve driven but, the one comment I remember the most is when I had a 68 4 door Fury. It was a little rough but not the worst I’ve had,,, anyway, I arrived at a KY derby party driving it and the other attendees were watching as I pulled in. An older lady was walking by as I got out. Looking at the Fury she said, “ it looks like all the good is gone out of that car”.
I looked back at the Fury and said, “now that you mention it, I believe your right”.

When people ask what it is I just tell em it's a poor man's SUV.
