Many thanks for saylor post on his work on his 727 I need to sort out the leaks on my 727 too. I am going to replace the 2 items that he posted: the kick down bushing and the throttle shaft seal. http://www.forcbodiesonly.com/mopar...it-of-help-please-with-727-transmission/page2. I was thinking I remember reading that I should also replace the oil fill tube O-ring and the speedometer seal too. Does my memory serve me correctly and is there any other seal I should replace at this time? Keep in mind I am not removing my transmission and it is not leaking at the rear seal.

I replaced all my seals, but the dipstick tube o ring is a good idea as you mentioned, the area where both of mine seemed to have the worse leaks was the Pan, if you haven't replaced that gasket, you might as well.

Nick

Wish I could be more help, I can't remember everything I replaced in mine when I rebuilt it in November.

Thanks Nick, I forgot to mention that I started there, with the pan, last fall and realized it is leaking else where. I think the first 2 are the bad areas on mine

I read from another post on here -
CLEAN EVERYTHING.
get down to the aluminum shell to the transmission, if you aren't there already. mine was all greasy and oily and I couldn't see anything.
once I cleaned it, it quickly got wet and drippy around the bad seals.
I think one of the posts said put talc or flower or something on there ... but mine was obvious where it was leaking from.

I didn't do the dipstick tube or the speedo or neutral switch seals.

I put trans fluid in it today before I did the brake conversion.. it hadn't ran for 3 weeks and I wanted to let it run some before it sits another 3 weeks (I got no disc brake wheel rims and no more money right now ).. but so far no transmission leaks.
