Power window motor drive gear kit.

Hi Guys, just a word of caution,
I bought 4 kits to renew the drive gears on my power windows from Rockauto.
They are in Dormans boxes so presumably they are manufactured in China. I fitted 2 of these and on both of them the main small metal drive gear broke teeth of it pretty much straight away. The round nylon gear seems ok but the other is just rubbish and not worth wasting time with. Just use your old metal gear if it looks ok with new nylon wheel. They should not be selling this stuff if it's not man enough to do the job.

Given that it seems a lot of the "newer" stuff is less than stellar in quality why
wouldn't someone just buy good used motors from someone and use the parts
from them or just replace as a unit...

Exactly! But one of us has to be a guinea pig for these parts before we know what is good and what is bad. We can all learn from this.

I will give you that.. Blimp is also going thru this with his vent windows...
Fortunately for him he has a place close by to him to look for the needed parts/motors ...
