I know I have seen a topic similar to this, but the search was not my friend today.
I have a newly painted (a year ago) clear coat finish with wax applied. W plan on going to a few cruise-in’s and local shows. I will be driving to these so I need some advice on a detailing product for a quick cleanup and shine. It seems like there are about a million different products out there.
My neighbor told me to use this.

It seems to work ok, but am I just adding wax buildup?
Will also take advice on stainless and chrome detailing product for freshly re chromed and polished. Something to remove bugs and finger prints.
Thank you

Stuff I use.
Can apply in sun or shade, doesn’t streak glass or leave any white residue on black trim.
Used this often on a Midnight Green car in full sun at shows.
I might wax a car once then just use polish after that to maintain shine. The Monaco doesn’t see inclement weather so just a light polish works for me.

Quick wax is supposed to be great stuff (never used it myself) but it's not a designed as a detail spray. Detail spray is used to remove light dust and dirt without scratching the paint.

Adam's has a really good one. I use Duragloss 921 on my 300 and Adam's on everything else. Colinite has just come out with a detail spray that's supposed to be pretty good too.

For chrome and stainless, you can't beat Collinite Metal Wax if it needs more than just a coat of wax.

Personal preference has a lot to do with this. I like the Duragloss products, especially their waterless wash. @commando1 will probably know what Zaino is and Duragloss makes their products. Colinite has some great stuff too. I use their 845 polish on my Barracuda and my daily drivers. Their factory was next door to our emblem shop. You can't go wrong with Meguiar's products especially if you stay in their upper "professional" lines.

Here's a detail spray comparison that might entertain you.

I use either Maguire's or Mother's Quick Detailer. Happy with both.

x2 on these, I use both. I noticed that the Maguire's tends to make the paint feel "moist" in the shade at least here where we have a cool coastal climate. Maybe it attracts the water vapor in the air. The Mothers tends to buff out a little easier.

My "on the road kit" consists of: 1. California Car Duster 2. Detail spray 3. Sprayway Glass Cleaner 4. microfiber towels (from Costco)

I can clean the entire car in 5 minutes with this combo. Sometimes I use the detail spray on the glass and chrome, sometimes the Sprayway. I stay away from using chrome polish regularly on the bumpers because some of them contain abrasives which thin out the chrome layer over time. I'll use it once a year at most for a deep clean.

I have used the Meguiars quick detailer spray wax for years on multiple cars, works great with no buildup issues.

Just to be different...
I've tried multiple detailer sprays over the years. They've all worked well. Just make sure what ever you spray doesn't contain silicone. While silicone makes water bead up it is tough on paint and makes refinishing, should it be needed, very difficult.
My wife uses the Meguiars gold product.

I got a real good deal on a product called Wizards detailer. So that's what I'm using right now on both the truck and Red.

Check out F11. I've never used anything close!

Thanks everyone for their input and experience.
I ended up going with the Meguiar’s Ultimate quick detailer.
No specific reason except it seems to be recommended and it was available at the closest Auto Zone. They had the regular Quick detailer as well as the Girots.

Although after I got it home I found it says not to use in heat or direct sunlight.
I will try this for a while and see how it goes. Maybe try something different next time.
It did make the bird crap easy to wipe off. I learned to find shade, but don’t be the one to park right by the shade tree with over hanging branches.
