I like it except for the aftermarket gauges and radio.

The ones made since 2011. They don’t seem to hold much value. Were the old 300s that way over the years?

In the mid to late '70's you would have lucky to get $750 for a solid big block Chrysler from the late '60's or early '70's. Market went to hell with gas shortages and higher gas prices.

This car if it has a solid frame and floors is probably priced at market with the stated mileage. I think the car has probably been repainted and the mileage is suspect, so a lot more information and documentation would be needed to justify the current price.

There’s a point in every car’s life where it’s just an old used car.

Thanks. I was wondering how the C bodies fared in the 70s and 80s.

I saw a lot of newer 300s listed at 3-5k. Are the new ones junk?

Not necessarily. On one hand, they are dime a dozen now, just (about) like their predecessors once were. On the other hand, performance minded folks know, that can most certainly fit the bill for "the poor mans Hemi", which is all good.

I bought this 1971 Chrysler 300 in 1977 for $100, plus $100 for 4 new tires.

what a deal! Nice 300. Thanks for posting the vintage photos. How old were you then?

I was 18, working my first full-time job, on the midnight shift.
The 300 replaced my 68 Town & Country. I got the Town & Country for $100 when I was 16.
The Town & Country with a 383-4bbl was quicker than the 300 with a 440.

I get a kick out of people who tell me that the 77 New Yorker must be hard to drive.
This is what I drove when I was a kid.

I love the old wagons but my wife told me hell no when I found a 59 Plymouth wagon on Craigslist.

That is an awesome succession of $100 Chrysler products. Of course, $100 was probably a lot more money in the late 1970s than now.

I got paid $6k per year, to work at a police department, on the midnight shift.

Beautiful 300. :wideyed:, followed by . A little pricey though, no? A friend a mine I believe is still looking for one a these. However I don't at all believe he wants to travel that far for it.

Nice car. I have a 71 Chrysler 300 also. Mine is a 2 door. Rotted all to heck as I saved it from the crusher. Sitting for 35 years or so in the open. Do you know where I can buy some body parts or any salvage cars for parts in our area on the East coast. See ur from NY. I am in PA.

Thanks,

Wizard

I sold that 71 a long time ago, and had formals for the past 20 years or so. @Big_John may know where parts can be found for the 71.

I don't have much, but I do have a couple '70 fenders that need repair at the bottom. Those are the same as '71 fenders (same part number) and could be had pretty cheap. @Samplingman may have some bits and pieces too.

Thanks John, the wizard and I are working out the logistics now.
